    That is Gold.

Tho in NSW the for a Federal Election the Senate voting "slip" is almost a metre long.

For the federal election in 2013 the WA senate had, I think, 87 candidates for 38 parties. That voting slip was huge. And they managed to lose some of them so we re-voted in 2014, with a similar number (if not more) candidates

As long as your voting intention is clear, you can use whatever numerals you like.

Went to a talk by the ABC's Antony Green tonight. Consensus seems to be that Labor will win without too much trouble. The seats to watch are Southern River and Mount Lawley - if they go to Labor, McGowan & Co are pretty much home and hosed. Upper House is likely to be a basket case due to our electoral system in WA!

But, but, but without Colin, what are we going to do with all the money that is earmarked for pointless capital works projects and to give to the WAFC?

Careful what you wish for. Barnett's mob have squandered a lot of money, sure. But they came good on the NIB upgrade, went ahead with the stadium build - and told the WAFC to forget managing it. Then they arranged a record sponsorship just as our neck was on the chopping block with the axemen hovering. The other mob will get in but who knows their intentions with the sponsorship.

I am thoroughly disillusioned with politicians of all parties. I had planned to vote for an independent. He has a long track record of voluntary and community work. I was pretty disappointed when the ballot arrived and found he was contesting the other half of Mandurah and I was back to Hobson's Choice. Ruled the Libs out for parachuting in a long time party apparatchik who's just moved in and who has not shown any record of community involvement anywhere.

I voted bottom up this time, making it a vote for who I hate least.

That was still a difficult decision.
