Everything You Need to Know for the Youth Sevens National Championships

The next generation of Australian Sevens stars will be on display at McGillivray Oval, Mount Claremont, this weekend at the Youth Sevens National Championships.

This is the first time Western Australia has held a National Championship, and will see over 20 boys’ and girls’ teams competing for the title. Running alongside the tournament will also be an invitational Under 14 Girl’s Invitational Tournament.

Among the teams competing for the right to call themselves National Champions are the Alcohol.Think Again Western Force Boys’ team and the Alcohol.Think Again Western Force Girls’ team.

With two Western Australian teams competing in the Youth Seven Nationals as well as four Under 14 Girls’ teams fighting it out in the Invitational Tournament make sure you come down and fill the hill to support some of the most talented junior rugby players our state has to offer.

The girls lost first up to NSW Blue before beating the National Indigenous side. Boys drew first up with ACT before towelling up QLD White 31-0.

We had an event just around the corner. So we dropped in to support the club by grabbing a chicken roll each and then settling to watch a few games before heading off to the other engagement.
Was actually really entertaining. We thought about heading back for Sunday, but decided to watch the youtube stream instead..
