Who will be the new Western force captain?

As mentioned in the force's article about Hodgson signing article...

As a result of this coaching role Hodgson has requested to step down as match day captain; allowing a new captain to be appointed in due time. Hodgson will be looking forward to supporting and mentoring the new captain and knows that whoever is chosen will bring their own strengths to the role next year and beyond. Hodgson will remain an integral part of the leadership group that has worked hard to create and maintain a culture of high values and standards in all aspects of the organisation...

Heath's proven great leadership in NRC. Pek? Benny Mac? Stander? Jono? Plenty of good leaders there!

I think Tessman seems to have been groomed for the role and probably the best choice.
McCalman and Peks time has gone no point making them captain now
Coleman maybe for the future but a couple of years too early now
DHP too far out of the action at full back
    Prior could be a smoky

Ben McCalman is only 28yo and is an 80-minute player.

Jono Lance and Ian Prior are both 26yo.
    Dane H-P is 27yo.
    Pekahou Coleman is 30yo.
    Heath Tessman is 32yo.
    All good VCs.

I do agree that Heath Tessman is a good leader.. My only negative is his age and looking at the 2 next in line hookers HS and Rangi would it keep them out of the game.. Ben Mac As Andrew G mention above with a few VCs

Eventually but IMO he's a bit green at the moment. A couple more seasons under his belt and would then consider him. Jono Lance maybe and Benny Mac VC?

This is fantastic news, as he is the heart and soul of the club.

Even better is that he is committed to giving more after his playing days.

Captain moving forward very tough call but I think Jono Lance (needs to stay injury free though) with Benny Mac as VC, DHP and Coleman in time to come.

    this is interesting...
I am confident that we can develop a style of play that will get the best from our players and be truly entertaining for the Sea of Blue to watch
an acknowledgement (snipe) of previous styles of play the were NOT entertaining to watch??

Hard call bison, he was (at least in part) responsible for that as captain. My call is Benny Mac. He's a regular 80 minute option, young enough to build a legacy, great team man, who has the respect of the sea of blue. Plenty of options for VC, I'd Def have Coleman and DHP in the leadership group, but IMHO Pekka is the man for VC, the only issue is that he'd be off the field late in the game, which is the time he'd be needed to take up the reins

Benny Mac for a couple of years (will probably looking at cash in Europe / Japan by then) with Coleman as VC, then taking the reins.

Coleman's gonna be one of the first names on the Force & Wallabies team sheets for years to come

Ben McCalman the only choice, leads by example and is streets ahead of the rest.

The problem with Benny Mac is the abundance of wealth we have in our backrow stocks. So he'll likely be rotated and rested a bit next year, which would also be good for him given the injuries he's had this year.
We've got Big Dog, Nasairani, Cottrell, Stander, Hardwick and RHP who could all play 8.

Coleman, Lance and DHP are much stronger certainties to be playing every game, and for most of the 80 minutes. Although DHP is probably a bit too far away from the action.

Very good points made Chiraag mate

Coleman it is then! Invest in the future! (even there they only be 2 more years of it)
