    Club sponsorship situation

Hi people, does anyone have any info regarding club sponsors. Will we continue to have individual shirt sponsors for the coming season or is their any interest from a single sponsor yet?

I think they'll stick with shirt sponsors for a while. I like the idea personally.

It come in handy for the sponsors as it is quite cheap versus being the sole main Sponsor, but does not bring in as much money like a main major sponsor does. Also we look cheap as a professional team with 15 different shirts

Hopefully we will find one soon!

No money in WA at the moment for single sponsorship. Individual jersey sponsors more achievable in the current economic climate.

I think that recent results as well does not help. There are plenty of companies still making a lot of money out there.

While it is cheaper for individual companies if you look at the math then i think you may be surprised. Emirates paid $1million a year for 23 jerseys. That comes out at approximately $43 500 each jersey. Currently each jersey is being sold for $75 000. $75000 × 23 = $1.725 million. It may be not ideally pleasing to the eye, but potentially provides more income.

We did a similar thing at the Club Rugby level. sold space on the back of Jerseys, and it put the sponsors names on 4 Jerseys in 4 Grades. at a few hundred per sponsor - for small business - we were able to bring extra money in to the Club that wasnt expected, and in some instances players who were tradies were able to "sponsor themselves" a good deal all round.

Our first naming rights sponsor wasn't a WA based business.

Whilst having the 15 different sponsors was a very genius way of keeping sponsorship money coming into the club it does look very amateurish and I couldn't name a single one of the sponsors to be honest.

Sponsors want to be associated with winning teams and unfortunately we don't have a very good record.

The one good thing about having no naming rights sponsor is the clean jersey's that we the supporters can buy and we're not the ST George Reds or Daikin Waratahs.

But sentimentality doesn't pay the bills.

and that's fine for an amatuer / semi-pro competition, but for a wholly professional organisation it's a bit of a shambles.

RWA and the force absolutely need to present a unified front at every opportunity. the naming rights and the jerseys being the most public opportunity.

I wonder if they've tried for a Japanese sponsor? Seeing as Japan is in the competition now.

Would people stop referring to the Force as "a club"? It is a franchise that is based in Perth for the time being. There is nothing clublike about the Force. Doesn't even have clubrooms where members can socialize and mingle with players and coaches. Bah Humbug.

Yeah, same as Wests [enter name of current suburb], but that doesn't stop them winning a few premierships.

Wasn't the deal $50k for starting jerseys and $25k for Bench jerseys?

Edit: Performed a google search and this was found: http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/w...shirt_sponsors

First year was $50K for the 1 - 15 ($750K) and they "donated" the bench 16 - 23 to WA Government for the Stadium Contribution.
