He is going to need them as his form is not great.

1 Current assistant in Prinsloo does not bring much to the team.

Imperative that Prinsloo is set adrift, Force lineout coach this year what a joke. Assistant with the spirit and he is working his magic on them, note the not so great lineout performances in 2 games so far. Had the pleasure of watching him try to coach Junior Rep sides about 4 years ago and he was useless then, so how did he weasel his way into the Force coaching set up?

I think the only chance we ever have of winning Super Rugby is a chance convergence of the team gelling exceptionally well and an unheralded coach adjusting the gameplan to match the squad's talents. I also think that we'd very quickly see the disbandment of that team as players and coaches are enticed eastwards.

    Am I too cynical?

RugbyWA could have appointed a bag of sawdust and you would think it was a great selection.

To be fair a bag of sawdust would be an improvement on Foley.

    Further news:

"Hodgson’s future was up in the air once Foley was sacked.
But Force chief executive Mark Sinderberry says the 35-year-old will play on next season, and will also be offered a role as part of the club’s coaching staff in the coming years."

C'mon mate can we please be serious...

No way would the great Tom Fearn accept a lowly position on "assistant coach".

There is method to their madness. This is part of their cunning plan. Pay stuff all for an untried inexperience coach to run the day to day operations. This allows them to pay more to get 2 experienced assistants and more money left to spend on some high quality players which will be announced soon! (no more wingers thanks)

Or is that very wishful thinking.

I hope you're not implying we're aspiring to NRC standard!

Indeed, I remember a while back when there was always talk of dumping the Chiefs, or reducing the South Island to one team by ditching the Highlanders and making the Crusaders the South Island Team. NZ Rugby got behind both franchises with their draft and coaching teams, now neither of them can ever be justifiably cut as they are both former champions. And now, even the Hurricanes have a premiership; very well-managed work by the NZRFU, something that has to be admired, and also looked at, by both Australia and South Africa if they want to keep this floundering competition vibrant.

The best thing I took out of that interview was the comment about not being match fit this year and ensuring training is done at game day pace to improve fitness.
now if we can just stop people getting injured I'll be happier.
