I was struggling to follow the game closely as well Andy, it seemed to me that the spirit spread their Sr players a lot more thinly as well. (by that I mean more responsibility and minutes given to the club players) Was that impression accurate? Or was I misreading it by counting guys like Loren's as club players.

I think there were a lot more Sr starters in the rebels 15

There's no doubt the Spirit provided more opportunities for the non-Force players to show their game.

The Rising had only the single non-Rebel squad player on the starting 15 - the Spirit had 5
(2 played 40 mins -Erasmus and Vasikicakau; 1 played for 67 mins - Knapp and 2 played for the full game (Stringer & Eden).

Apart from Matuauto (40 mins) the bench Backs didn't get much time.

I reckon the Rebels were expecting to win this one. Good to see them go home disappointed.

I struggle to understand the support for Stirzaker and Debreczeni to get called up into the Wallabies squad.

Neither had any real impact on this game (D had a shocker of a start), both are very soft in contact - Stirzaker actively avoids it and Debreczeni is the master at totally missing his target, leaning into the ruck or standing with his hand on a colleagues bum while looking into the crowd. (D is 1.92m tall and weighs 100kg)

Compare their efforts around the park against Genia, Foley or even Phipps.

Prefer Havilli at No 8 than on the wing. He has the potential to really develop in this position. But also think he could have a major impact on the wing if the Force's Backs were really working well. I still dream!

Very impressed with Billy Meakes' involvement at the breakdown but would like to see a lot more of his ball-carrying abilities.
