Ten lands World Cup rights. Joy!

Really interesting article over at RugbyHeaven saying that Channel Ten have won the rights to televise the next World Cup. Just as important, they will also show Super 14 games involving Australian teams next year.

Great news for those of us who don't have Fox and can't stand Channel Seven's crappy "coverage".

Here's hoping Ten do a good job and treat the rugby community with some long overdue respect.

no doubt partly due to the fact Seven has picked up the V8 supercars from ten...

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

    Dream come true!

Pity 7 are going to root the V8 coverage but I'd rather see 10 with the Rugby.

    Wonder who will commentate....

Will be interesting if Gordon Bray will switch to 10 like he did when 7 got the Rugby off the ABC all those years ago

Or maybe Bill Woods and Niel Crompton, with sideline comments by Tim Bailey?

You are a sicko sage, they`d ruin the game, so you would just turn the sound down

Can someone confirm, seeing as I don't have Foxtel, does Phil Kearns currently commentate? I seem to remember seeing a game or two where he was commentating and he was pretty good.

Also its a pity about the V8's going to 7 as I thought Ten did a good job.

Ya, he still does. Alot of people don't like his commentary but I like it, he's a witty man.

I'm still upset about the V8's, but I usually watch it on mute anyway so as long as the camera work is good, I'll be happy enough.

We'll probably get some cross-trained AFL commentator yelling "push in the back" and "holding the ball".

I'll do it. The commentators often repeat the same things I say, albeit not with as much swearing and yelling... Possibly more coherent too now that I think about it.

But I'd be happy to do it, my only demands:

All the beer I can drink.
All the food I can eat.
All the cape town nightlife I can handle.

Only if you're an Australian Rugby player it is.
