    Last Round Before The Finals

Three teams are now definitely going to play final round football.

Nedlands will play Palmyra in the semi between 2nd and 3rd and Wests will play either Kalamunda or Cottesloe.

Kala are currently one point ahead of Cott in fourth place on the ladder but Cott have in theory an easier game next week against Perth Bayswater and should take the 5 points.

Kala play Palmyra at Hartfield and again in theory have a much harder game. They will need not only to win, but to take the bonus point.

I think Kala will win, with the home game advantage, but getting the bonus point is probably too much of an ask. A lot will depend on how many "dispensational" decisions RugbyWA will be prepared to make with the competition rules and how it controls the availability of RugbyWA contracted players for either side.

In any event, if Kala wins without a bonus point, Cott will go through to the final on a better percentage, despite having won less games than Kala during the season. I'd like to see Kala get through however, as they have a greater potential for softening up Wests than Cott do.

Nedlands are starting to look like the shakier team in the finals but again a lot depends on the extent of dispensations RugbyWA will engage in.

Wet weather rugby is over, the sun will shine for the Neddies Foreshore boys during their home ground semi final matches.

Went up to watch nedlands. They look ready. As BDG said tight 1st 30 even tho nedlands played into strong wind. A couple of breakout tries to uni , a charge down and intercept, kept nedlands honest. Nedlands ended up scoring tries from all over the park. Looking up fixture results Uni have not had 50 put on them all year. If nedlands had their usual goal kicker it would have been 80.
They afforded to rest big guns and still continue to score.

Why isn't Tevin Ferris in NRC? He looked pretty good at 8.

Can someone from Bros give us a summary of their game on Sat.I'm hearing absolute horror stories that the match was officiated according to the script.
Also heard that referee Alex Ninkov who is highly regarded by 1st grade coaches will missing in finals after failing to reach the required fitness level.
Something along the lines of the Ref Assoc presenting all semi finalist coaches with a list of candidates who the coaches then rate should be implemented because a ref who has a bit more running ability shouldn't determine whether he gets the gig over someone who has a better understanding and feel for the game.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

Isn't that a bit of a two-edged sword though Westie? Surely there's some point at which the ref's knowledge is useless because he can't keep up with the play. (i was going to qualify this comment with the fact that I don't know the specifics of the case, but every time I do that I get myself in trouble, so I'm going to try comment without qualification for a while)

Minimum 2 golden triangle clubs must make Premier Grade Finals

If fitness standards are set for finals refereeing then they have to be adhered to. We don't want a bad call in the closing minutes of a GF due to the ref being gassed

Looking at reserves results, Wests beating Soaks was a surprise.. but it does look like Pally should win that.. they play a good style and are as hard at the footy as ive seen in reserves... any one seen much of the other sides in contention? Always interesting to see how clubs manage both sides in the finals...

We didn't have any of our Force guys that week due to a call up to NIB . They'll be back for the finals.
