As the Reds have posted themselves it's tough to lose a good 'club man'. Never underestimate the benefit of bringing in an experienced player who can contribute to the team both on and off the field.

More concerning is what looks like Godwins departure to the Brumbies. Godwins career is on the up and he has yet to reach his considerable potential. It's a shame to lose his services to the Brumbies for what will be his best years as a pro. Players like this are the guys you want to be able to hold and develop because you know at some point they will shine and kick some butt.

To the detriment of the Force, you need to have good players, good facilities, good coaches, money, great fan base and a city with a great lifestyle to keep and attract talent. We are only delivering in maybe 2 of those areas. We need to do some serious self evaluation as to where we want to be in the sporting landscape in order to turn things around. If we don't respect ourselves as a sporting organisation we won't command any respect and will continue to be a doormat for the rest of the competition.

So if Godwin leaves, should we move Tapuai back to 12? He hasn't been amazing at 13 and always played his best rugby at 12 where his passing and kicking games are better utilised. He'd also have a better crack at the Wallabies as Kuridrani, Kerevi and Folau look more likely options at 13.

Before being a Wallaby again he would need to perform well enough, which hopefully he will again but I doubt it from the year that he has had so far.

I'm all for playing guys in their best positions. None of this "he's a wing but can also cover 12 and 13". Have the best players playing in their best position. We don't need a team of swiss army knives.

Seems like the Force are the landing spot for a lot of Reds players. GAGR chatter that the Force may be looking at the second coming of Moses? All speculation until things get announced.

I wouldn't mind seeing Burton in at 12 a bit next year

Looks like Morahan confirmed for next year

Fringe Wallabies winger Luke Morahan has re-signed with the Western Force for the 2017 Super Rugby season.

Moses Sorovi? Why? Angus Taylor or Michael Ruru are at least as good options.

Last time I saw Luke he looked like the left overs from a hippie love-in. No doubt about the ability, he'll need to shift some burgers between here and next season if he wants to play12.

AFTER a week from hell, the tide is set to turn for the Western Force.

We hear they are closing in on the signing of Bulldogs NRL try-scoring sensation Curtis Rona.

The high-profile coup would give the Force a much-needed boost after the drunken controversy in South Africa and poor performances of 2016.

Rona was being mentioned as a contender for the Queensland State of Origin side last year after he broke through as one of league’s best finishers, but then discovered that he was not eligible to play in the code’s showpiece event because he’d spent 12 years of his childhood in Western Australia.

Rona played for the Wanneroo district rugby club and was in the Force’s academy before he switched to league fulltime in 2009.

He made his NRL debut in 2014 for North Queensland, scoring six tries in seven games, before switching to the Bulldogs, for who he’s scored 34 tries in 42 games.

Canterbury Bulldogs NRL star Curtis Rona could be heading home to Perth to join the Western Force.
Rona’s wife Jacinta also hails from Perth and it’s understood the couple have a home there and are keen to move back with their daughter.

Tellingly, the Bulldogs are now chasing Canberra winger Brenko Lee as a potential replacement for Rona.

Also boosting the Force roster will be Reds lock Ben Matwijow, who will join the franchise after a stint in the ITM Cup with Taranaki.

So now Wanneroo and Joondalup are in Queensland too? Or maybe they are going on his birthplace in Taranaki, NZ. Which is, of course also in Queensland - It REALLY IS everywhere.
