Would be nice to see the Force do something constructive with the ball while in possession, they lack a structure or a plan when faced with trying to build an eventual attack against a set defence. Whether it's mauls, phases, drives, whatever; I would love to see something at the coal-face which would suck in the defenders and give us some overlaps.

On the coaching front we need to remember that QLD will start searching for a head coach soon once they have their new CEO so if we are going to get rid of Foley I say we do it now otherwise QLD will end up getting the best coaching candidate ahead of us.

O'Connor and Stiles are co-coaches of the reds as an interim measure. You would think either 1 of them or both is going to be unsuccessful in getting the job and will be p1ssed off and maybe keen to move on. Would it be worth poaching Matt O'Connor to come in? He would probably make a good backs coach but would probably only move for a head coach role?

Otherwise Laurie Fisher and Robbie Deans could be other options.

I think Connelly was on the money when he said we need a star or two player with x factor to turn this around. Sadly there are none knocking on our door nor do we have anything much to coax them here with.

Coaches are there to gel a team together not teach them basic skills or how to act instinctively.

Unfortunately what we need will not be easily found but we all live in hope.

Pity JOC turned out the way he did, skill wise he is exactly what we are now lacking( ps not culture wise).

Hopefully one of those Saffas in our Future Force turn out to be the answer

Liam Gill has played 70 games of Super Rugby.
That means he's averaged 0.014 Drop Goals per game.

BUT he can come and kick one for my team when we need it!!!

Don't see Stiles coming back to WA. He's got very strong Qld ties and a young family who are very well settled in Brisbane now. Much as I would love to see Stiles back here as I think he's a great coach, I honestly believe he would put his family first and stay in Brisbane, even if he was passed over for the head coach role at the Reds.

I think we should give Matt Hodgson a role similar to what the Reds have done with Brad Thorn. Couldn't hurt having Hodgo mentoring the young guys on fitness, conditioning and playing whole heartedly every time you jersey up.

Couple of additional comparisons re No 7s after Round 10.

All of these players are working hard for their teams.

Some are working harder and with greater Effectiveness.

In the lower plot the lower the number of DRIs per TOW the better.
A pretty good measure of Efficiency and Effectiveness.

Against the Bulls, Hodgo's number was 3 DRIs/TOW.

Does that mean Hodgo stays and Alcock to leave with Koteka to be developed as understudy.

Hodgo playing another year is great, I hope both Alcock and Koteka stay,
Injuries are cruel, and it would be shit to be short in one of the most important positions on the field.
We've gone to the whole depth of the squad in a few positions this year - front row, 2nd row and 10
