    Rasolea has signed with Edinburgh

    http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/...ralian_centre/

EDINBURGH have recruited Solomoni ‘Junior’ Rasolea from Western Force in Australia for next season. The 24-year-old centre has been recruited to compensate for the departures of Matt Scott and Sam Beard, who are leaving for Gloucester and Newport Gwent Dragons respectively.

Born in Brisbane, Rasolea, who can also play on the wing, has two caps for the Australian Sevens team and is therefore ineligible to play for any other country. He earlier played for Fiji in the junior world championships.

Edinburgh have already announced the signing of Rory Scholes from Ulster and Duncan Weir from Glasgow Warriors for next season. Glenn Bryce is expected to follow Weir from the Warriors to Murrayfield.

Last year I would have been OK with this, but he has shown stacks of promise this year and now I'm disappointed.

So are you saying his efforts this year were a job interview of sorts?

Shame he wasn't looking for work last year!

Will be sorry to see Junior head off, he has given us four good years.

One of the few who put a lot of time into club rugby especially in the first few years.

He is heading towards a peak in age and form and time for him to cash in if he can on a more lucrative contact.

Thanks Junior for the memories and the short chats we hade every now and then after a match or at a fan day.

We appreciate the sacrifices you made coming to WA to play for us. Go well and enjoy

But what a story it would be though, if he really did end up playing for Fiji after all that?

The only way he could switch allegiance to anyone other than Australia is by playing a game in the 2018-2019 World Sevens Series (i.e. the Olympic qualifying tournament) for the 'new' country.
