unfortunately, they also said that it was a poor representation of rugby, which was true.

however - where in a WC position

I didnt manage to watch the game on Saturday and as i already knew the result i ended up watching the last 15 minutes of the game on monday. I didn't think the Force played poorly at all then and it was clear they were keeping it tight and played to their strengths. If the reds had won, Marto and his other Reds fanbois wouldve been singing a different tune.

To be fair, and I think Greg Martin is an a**e most of the time as well, but I'm pretty sure he'd referred to DHP as the 2nd best Full Back in Aus before the game started on Saturday.

It depends on your expectations Zim, the game was by no means scintillating, I have to admit that, but it was an improvement on last week and a definite improvement on last year. I think some of the posters on here want to see the Force become an instant 90's Crusaders simply by saying they're going to run the ball, but some of us are a bit more realistic.

Like I've said before the good points
They weren't silly with possession this week
They played a good territorial/possession game
They had a crack every now and again
A lot more of the passes stuck/weren't thrown in desperation at the last 3%

If they can keep up the level of improvement, they might be able to hold the Brumbies away from putting 50 on them and this year they might even score a try on them.

The Brumbies aren't a team that becomes complacent, however if they do, I suspect they might end up with a bloody nose out of this one. Force by -15

We're going to be sorely tested in the period leading up to the 1st bye:
    Brumbies at Home
3 against the best in NZ
    Crusaders at Home
    Bulls at home
    BYE
    Waratahs at home

The reality is that no external changes are likely to alter the outcomes this year as the WF just doesn't have the organisation or $.

    I'm still hopeful.

    GO THE DISTANCE!!

Could you flesh this out a bit more Andrew? By "external changes" do you mean new players? And by "organisation" do you mean the back room staff?

Fans may get upset by efforts of the office support staff but I don't think it's going to impact a lot of the player group.
I've always found them friendly and helpful. (I'll let you know when/if I get my Test tickets OK )

By external I mean sacking the coach for the sake of making a change.
If this is going to happen it should be at the end of the season.

We have little choice but TO GO THE DISTANCE and get behind the effort.
Because the impact on the whole franchise would be catastrophic.

We've met the playing group and staff at the Fan Day...anybody could tell that it's a very cohesive group.
They need us behind them - not sniping at every opportunity or after each hiccup.

There are just no $$s in the kitty to be attracting players of better calibre.
We are really achieving a lot with very little.
This is the deepest mining slump in one of the mining States in over 40 years.
Have a look who is sponsoring the East Coast teams - banks and finance institutions who have their head offices in the East.
There are very few company head offices outside small-med sized mining companies which are Perth based.
We have BankWest (small potato) already plus fantastic support from a wide range of small-mid size Perth-based industries.

    Nothing will succeed like success.

All of the current squad were involved in plotting the way forward during the NRC period last year.
There has been a big focus on skills and on/off field leadership and building the culture.
It wasn't just Foley and the coaching and support staff who were involved - it was Captain, leadership group, and playing group.
I assume that the way forward was also endorsed by the CEO and Board.

Anybody can go and watch the squad on the training pitch - they are generally not closed sessions.
The intensity and speed of training is way above the same time last year.
We saw the style of rugby that they've been working on in the trial games.
The players were incapable of playing this style last year.

The reality of the game against the Rebels despite the horrible metrics (rucks lost, handling errors etc) we could have still won that game.
Against the Reds the kicks behind the Red's line worked on almost every occasion because they were exposed.
3 kicks were out on the full - but they were well timed kicks.
It's not a case of one style or another, but a case of on-field decision making as the game unfolds.

Good players should be relegated to the bench or out of the XXIII as was Brache last week.
Michael Foley has always advised that all positions are available and when he's had options that's what he has done.

Others may have a different opinion but Foley can't manage the team to satisfy the broad range of views expressed by fans.

I BELIEVE (as I'm a "glass half full" type of bloke) but still share the frustration of many when the players let each other down.
I've always enjoyed the journey just as much, if not more, as actually getting to the final destination.

"Ah Grasshopper - Car navigation is easiest if the focus is through the windscreen and the way ahead rather than through the rear-vision mirror.
Learn from the past but don't let it distract you too much". (My Michael Malthouse moment)

I agree that such a sacking shouldn't happen untiul the end of the season. But if it were to happen Foley won't be getting the sack for the sake of it, he wil be getting the sack for being almost as unscuccessful as Richard Graham.

I imagine that Foley will see out his contract baring another debarcle like last year.

I have a sneaking suspicion we could catch them napping this game...we have often played our best against the best teams and likewise been unable to put away similar or worse teams, falling to their level. See our record against Crusaders.

Part of the "fascination" of supporting the Force

Not really sure Prior is quite there tho. Also the issue with 10s? So we now have a Peter Grant who has hardly had game time, Jono who has proved outstanding (good, calm decision making And good defence! Hallelujah! Bye bye Sias! But now how does Luke fit back into the team? Cannot understand why Louwrens is being overlooked. He & Morohan have been a good combo in games.
Really hope the Force have saved up for a good performance against the Brumbies, clutching at straws I know, but don't think they wanted to risk too much in the Reds game and played a safe option. Although seeing the new 'game plan' would've been a plus. A replay of their game against the Canes is what I want to see!
I think Alby needs a rest Prior by far the best passer of the ball....(plus he can place kick too!!!....)
