Godwin earns inside running for Force

Western Force coach Michael Foley will go back to the future when he unveils his new attacking brand of rugby in the club’s first pre-season trial against the Hurricanes on Wednesday afternoon.
A big focus will be on local product Kyle Godwin who has trained exclusively at inside centre, the position that had him on the verge of a Wallabies call-up before he was switched to the outside role last year.
The experiment was not a success and Godwin slipped off the Wallabies radar.
But he will back in the No.12 jumper this season, starting in the trial against last year’s Super Rugby minor premiers and grand final runners-up at Central Coast Stadium in Gosford.
Foley said he had made a commitment to play the 23-year-old in his favourite position.

A blind man could see that it wasn't working and would have changed it last year!

I liked the admission that they were afraid of failure last year. I like the idea that they are starting the season planning to hang their balls out and give their absolute maximum and accept the risks that come with that. Now all that remains to be seen is
a whether that is all bullshit rhetoric designed to keep the press off their back
b whether the message has effectively transferred to the players
c whether there is a realistic long-term mindset behind the idea or will it revert to type after the second stuff-up (which will inevitably come)
d whether their 110% balls-to-the-wall best is even up to the standard of the fringe players in the top teams.

but I like the attempt nonetheless
