AUSTRALIA coach Tim Walsh has named an extended 15-man rugby sevens squad including Wallabies winger Henry Speight for the Oceania Regional Olympic Qualifier in Auckland on Saturday and Sunday.

Ed Jenkins will captain an experienced team which includes veterans Jesse Parahi and Con Foley.

Tom Cusack has been called up after strong recent performances at the Central Coast Sevens and centre Cameron Clark returns after a minor hamstring injury.

Pat McCutcheon, who has a hamstring strain, and Nick Malouf, who has a knee problem, were unavailable.

The winner of the eight-team tournament will qualify for next year’s Rio de Janeiro Olympics while the second and third-placed teams will attend the final qualifying tournament in June.

New Zealand and Fiji have already qualified for Rio after claiming top-four placings in the last IRB sevens World Series.

Australia will line up in Auckland against American Samoa, the Cook Islands, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, the Solomon Islands and former world sevens champion Samoa.
