    Why no talk about Tai

Well it 's 3 days since the official announcement of Tai McIssac's departure in Friday's West and I find it quite concerning that there has been nothing at all regarding this news.

It's like this forum is being moderated by HQ, only touchy feely good news is now considered newsworthy.

This is a huge loss and should send shockwaves through this rugby community but no nothing so I guess people either don't realise the massive ramifications this will have or don't follow the game deeply enough to care.

The heir apparent is a favourite son of the Force, is an extremely likeable character and from all accounts is very very good at his set piece role and more importantly has huge respect from the players.

Less than one year into a three year contract and he's decided to pull the pin should set alarm bells off.

We just can't afford to lose guy's of this calibre and what's even more disconcerting is the apathy that a supposed rugby loving forum has displayed.

This is an extremely sad state of affairs at the moment and when the so called feral's according to those who had a differing view were made to feel unwelcome a few weeks back on this site the real meat and potatoe talk has disappeared.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

just how much imput did he have in team selection? From the outside it appears the team for each game was selected well before the season started.Maybe he just got pissed off with the whole setup?

He will probably turn up coaching for Qld down the track and spank the Force.

if it's not posted on here I'm unlikely to hear about it.
much like the signing of Tom Sexton which also didn't rate a thread of it's own.

Not sure if that is just sarcasms Jargs, but you are 100% correct, unfortunately he is off to Queensland

Westie, for future reference, HQ have absolutely nothing to do with the moderation of this site, it is only what the contributors make it, and yours is much appreciated, not all of us have the access and knowledge of the local comp that you are able to share. It is however very concerning that he has left so early into a long contract. My mail has it that the boys are very disappointed with this, so I can only assume there some issues with the chain of command from a Spirit perspective.

I read somewhere that he was going back to Qld to be closer to family. I was unsure whether he was going to obtaining a role with the QRU though.

First I have heard of it, only read the newspaper online so that's my excuse for not knowing about it.
Too busy fishing and the cray season starts soon.
Not surprised though more than likely pissed off with only being allowed to be a figurehead coach.
He can join a long list of coaches, from State Juniors upwards who have been in the same boat.
I hope he finds a real good job elsewhere.

McIsaac decides one season is enough
    Nick Taylor
    October 2, 2015, 8:13 am
Western Force will need a new line-out specialist, Perth Spirit coach and academy mentor next season after Tai McIsaac cut short his three-year deal.
McIsaac will be in charge of Spirit for the rest of the National Rugby Championship as they make a bid for the finals, starting with Sunday’s clash against NSW Country Eagles at UWA Sports Park.
The former Force and Wallabies hooker was appointed to lead the side this season after returning to the Super Rugby club on a three-year deal at the end of last year.
McIsaac, one of the Force’s most popular members, played in all 52 matches from the club’s inception until his retirement in 2009 when he left to coach in Japan.
Queenslander McIsaac, 40, is expected to return to the Gold Coast to be closer to family.

Just a note that there is bugger all moderation on this site. We mostly just fix threads in the wrong place and when quotes are mucked up.
Anyone can post a new thread, just put it in the right place if you can and if you are quoting newpaper articles make sure you dont post the whole article (Particularly from local papers eg the West and Sunday Times) and always put a link to the article.

It's a bugger to hear that Tai is leaving but after all the news about how the Spirit team was selected weeks in advance it seemed obvious, to me!, that Tai could only be a figure head coach and he probably wouldn't be around for long. What coach would not want to get his best possible team out week after week?

I actually posted on Friday WM. Another coach gone and left the state taking with him experience. At least he has played for the force and knows what is required, instead we are left with Foley, 2 coaches from SA, and 2 coaches that have no idea. Word from the players is Prinsloo is now Lineout coach and Nestor taking backs. Haha good luck!!!
Over the weekend I have dug deep for answers from my reliable sources!.BDG you are right, all contracted were selected before the spirit season commenced on how much game time they were allowed. Sports science bullshit.
Foley had paranoia symptoms of Tai knifing him in the back! Came to a head so Tai told Foley to stick it!
I believe also massive finance issues at RugbyWA with contracts.
As I have been saying the fish rots from the head first, sad thing is it has taken out a respected man that you are right WM the boys have alot of time for.
What now Western Force supporters, still got time for this management and all its issues?????

I know you posted on Friday and also took it down a few hours later. This thread does not need to disintergrate into a bagging exercise against the coaches that are left but was meant to draw attention to Tai's leaving because for whatever reason there has been nothing posted anywhere about it.
