Don't have a link to the article, I just saw a tweet about it on Twitter. Any confirmation from the Force TIF?

So if he is staying does that mean we have signed QC instead of Peter Grant, who would need the marquee spot vacated by Steenkamp??

MARCEL BRACHE is being looked at by the USA Eagles for the RWC, if he plays for them he then becomes a marquee signing and I don't think he's good enough to to a marquee spot...

Rather Brache than Steenkamp; but you're right, marquee spots should be for game-changers. Once Louwrens becomes a starter Alby shouldn't be kept as a marquee warming the bench (although I love him and would like to see him stay in a coaching role or something), and I'm slightly dubious of Mafi using a marquee spot as we have plenty of back rowers (although not locks).

It was a waste having Steenkamp in a suit last season, so while I thank him for coming over, I'd happily wave him goodbye; and good as Brache is (certainly in terms of effort and willingness) Australia has plenty of backs and Brache is mainly going to start on the bench, so not worth a marquee spot.

Similar situation to Adam Byrnes - it's wonderful for Brache to get picked by the Eagles, but I think that'll be him gone from Australian rugby.

Toulon seek big payout from Cooper

Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal says the French club will seek "substantial compensation" from Quade Cooper if the Australian does not honour his contract.

The saga that started back in April, when the European champions confirmed the signature of the Wallaby fly-half, continues to drag on.

On Sunday, it was revealed that Cooper had inked a new four-year deal with the Australian Rugby Union with the aim of playing at the 2016 Olympics rather than join Toulon.

The Top 14 champions have always insisted that the Cooper deal was signed and sealed and now look set to take legal action against the 27-year-old, who will have to buy his way out of the French contract.

"Quade Cooper has signed a contract and the document was submitted in due form to the National League," Boudjellal told local newspaper La Provence.

"This contract has been registered with the LNR. [...] Cooper confirmed the commitment that was made because he also signed a League contract.

"I do not know the exact amount of the contract price, but a compensation clause was included in the first agreement with an established tariff if the player did not sign the contract to follow.

"If Quade Cooper does not respect this contract, the compensation clause will come into affect and the amount will be very high."

Cooper currently sits on 53 Test caps, meaning he falls short of the 60 required to be eligible for Australia while playing overseas, but he is expected to reach that threshold before the end of the World Cup.

I don't think Cooper will be heading West anytime soon.
So who will be our next 10?

Have you noticed the amount of "changes" to recruiting rules there have been of late, perhaps we have not heard about all of them just yet. I'm sure once all the I's are dotted and T's are crossed there will be answers.....
