Belgium Rugby club racks up Cricket score.

IT all started when the referee failed to turn up on time.

Soignies players will now wish he failed to turn up at all after the Belgian rugby club was on the wrong end of one of the most lopsided scorelines in sporting history: a 356-3 thrashing at the hands of Royal Kituro.

The BBC reports that Royal Kituro ran in a remarkable 56 tries and booted 38 conversions — scoring at more than four points per minute — to demolish their rivals in the top division clash.

Soignies did hit back — briefly — with a field goal.

According to the report, the referee’s no-show by kick-off prompted Soignies’ coach and several players to leave, only for the whistleblower to turn up an hour later.

They still took the field with 15 players but were dealt a hammering that president Guy Calomme described as “catastrophic”.

Incredibly, Soignies sits above Royal Kituro on the ladder even after the 356-3 humiliation.

So glad they omit the reasons from the article - the ref was late, it was an hour after kickoff, half of the away team had already gone home but they had to play if they wanted one competition point rather than none...

It seems a little odd that the game wasn't called off if the ref is an hour late.

Surely there's a ruling for that?

There are some clips out which shoe that the losing team were a full squad, but they did make any efforts at all to put on a tackle throughout the entire game, they just watched the opposition run by and keep scoring tries!

So how did they get 3 points?

Also, if Royal Kituro weren't getting tackled, they could presumably put the ball down under the posts - so how come they missed 18 conversions?

Maybe you slow down after the first 20 or 30 tries scored against you.
