That extension to Pat O'Hara was the deciding factor for most under 19s, they've all quit.

Rugbywa waiting to see how many teams before releasing the draw.
Kala should have 19s, 17s are a worry though

Does anybody have any idea how many clubs will be entering an Under 19's team this year? By my reckoning it will probably be no more than eight?

Is it true that UWA are offering Bursaries to a number of Colts players to get them play for the club?

They certainly have in the past but word is that the new UWA regime is not going to help the rugby this year.

Yes, they do it every year. Also they use the play for us and we will get you into the rugbywa academy promise. A few boys from Guildford grammar in midland heading to UWA i believe.
Last years Neddies colts team cost a pretty penny to recruit. Guys living in Joondalup and Mandurah playing for Neddies.

you'd expect more than a few boys from Guildford to head to UWA this year. After all, getting boys into a good university is why Guildford Grammar exists.

Ditto Hale, Christ Church, Scotch and even Aquinas. I don't know how much effort schools like Aranmore spend on ATAR, but I'd suspect they'd want a bunch of their kids in UWA as well!

Wests have quality U19s coaches and the team is training - not sure where you get your info from Ben?
Maybe Joondalup will struggle to put a team on the park ...

So how much exactly do the Uni club pay their Colts? How does a player go about getting a Bursary? Anybody have any info?

5 large towards their fees . Have heaps of colt age players at training, pretty soon they will be all playing each other because they have ripped all the other club's juniors away. The pathway to progress up to 1st grade can't be too flash because if it was they wouldn't have to pay players like Kala's Tala Moli to play for them. Anyone know how many Uni 1st graders have actually attended UWA.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

So basically, Uni just purchase their Colts team? Whatever happened to developing your own Junior players? Or am I old fashioned?

Bit like a WA version of Toulon I guess!

you are talking about Uni mate they hardly ever have any juniors to talk about they only had 183 players last year they did not have a U17 and had only 1 U15 team that got nowhere however they will as always be at the top of the log in U19
