NSW Country Eagles defeat North Harbour Rays 33-21 in NRC clash at Brookvale Oval

NSW Country Eagles have maintained their flying start to the NRC with a 33-21 victory over North Harbour Rays at Brookvale Oval.

The star of the show was again rising winger Andrew Kellaway who took his competition tally to six tries with a double in another classy performance.

The match was played in difficult conditions yet again with rain falling throughout the 80 minutes.

Eagles flyhalf Sam Windsor also had a fine game while Rays winger David Feltscheer provided the highlight of the evening for the hosts with a wonderful solo try.

A great game in very trying conditions. Paddy Dellit and Ed Stubbs played well for Eagles and ex Force Hooker Luke Holmes also had a good match for Rays.

I for one am really enjoying this competition from the new rules, speed of play, player exposure and a telecast every Thursday

Have been very impressed with the quality of the club players in this competition. They are certainly grabbing the opportunity and running with it.

Perhaps we aren't as short of talented players as we think.

Thought Coops managed the game well and let it flow. Was trying to gauge the size of the players in comparison to Coops and they weren't big players at all,in fact they were both quite small packs. Young gun Kellaway has a fair bit of work to do on his defence. The openside for Harbour looked very handy

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
