PERTH SPIRIT MEDIA RELEASE
Friday, 22 August 2014

The Perth Spirit will feature six proud Western Australian-based organisations on its playing strip for the 2014 Buildcorp National Rugby Championship (NRC).

The Property Club, a leading nation-wide property investment organisation, will adorn the front of the playing jersey as the team’s principle partner while global payment and risk management solutions provider, AFEX, will feature on the Spirit’s shorts. Both partnerships were announced in conjunction with the Spirit jersey unveiling a fortnight ago.

The Spirit has today announced four new partners, including one of Australia’s leading scrap metal recycling companies, C.D. Dodd Scrap Metal Recyclers, that will feature on its sleeve, while Retravision, a leading supplier of electrical, white goods, audio visual, small appliances, heating & cooling, and I.T. equipment, will continue its long-standing partnership with WA rugby as collar partner for the Perth Spirit.

Pindan, Western Australia’s leading property and construction group, continues its association with rugby – already sponsoring the naming-rights to the local Pindan Premier Grade competition – with the organisation’s brand to feature on the back of the Spirit jersey.

Also on the back of the Perth team’s jersey, will be the Force 15 Foundation, a coterie formed from some of the leading business identities in Western Australia that have provided support to rugby and aspiring players in Perth over an extended period.

The Perth Spirit, an extension of the Western Force program, will broaden the WA rugby player base by allowing the best of the Pindan Premier Grade to regularly play alongside Western Force against the best emerging rugby talent in Australia.

RugbyWA CEO Mark Sinderberry says the partnerships are an example of the tremendous support within rugby in Western Australia.

“We’re very excited by the Perth Spirit’s campaign in the Buildcorp National Rugby Championship, and we’re very excited and grateful for the opportunity to be able to share the campaign with these loyal, locally-based corporate partners,” he said.

“C.D. Dodd Scrap Metal Recyclers, Pindan and Retravision have been long-term supporters of rugby in WA as well as the Western Force, and were keen to extend their relationship to the Spirit for this new competition.

“The Property Club has been involved with the Joondalup Brothers club in Perth over a number of years, and we’re very proud to have them emblazoned on the front of our jerseys and being a key member of the Spirit.

“Likewise, AFEX have also been involved in rugby through Saracens and the Australian Rugby Union Players Association, and we’re excited about having them on board with RugbyWA over the next two years.

“Finally, the Force 15 Foundation have been amongst the most generous supporters of WA rugby over an extended period and have always put the interests of rugby in this state first. We’re very proud to have them on board for the NRC as well as fostering the next generation of Perth Spirit and Western Force stars through our Future Force program.”

The Perth-based side will kick off its NRC campaign against the Canberra Vikings in Canberra on Saturday, 23 August.

The Spirit will play home matches in Perth at McGillivray Oval (Sunday, 31 August), Joondalup Arena (Sunday, 28 September) and Rockingham Rugby Union Club (Saturday, 4 October). Click here to purchase your tickets to Perth Spirit home matches.
