Maybe you confused my state with euphoria that the season is done. Very proud that the lads scrapped to the bitter end and could do no more. Prick of a way to end my involvement all the same.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

I think because the ARU wanted all the club comps nation wide to be finished before the NRC starts. So RugbyWA went to the Semi final method.

    Not sure if it's just a stop-gap.

No finals matches at Wanneroo this year, hope Rugby WA makes some money from the NRC.

That's a bit of an advantage. If you're good enough to finish top you should knock off 4th place; if good enough to finish 2nd then you should be able to beat 3rd, right?

    In theory, anyway.

I actually think it's a good format. The advantage should be a home semi for finishing first or second.

Westie, been thinking how to work that one out. There should be a prize for winning the minor premiership, in the old format you got two bites. If you now won a home final, what about all the other grades?

Follow the WARL's example and have all the finals played at the same ground as the First grade sides?

WM, as a ref and fellow rugby tragic, I wanted to thank you for all your involvement in local rugby...regardless of the result, you've always come across as somebody who is more interested in the result and everybody's performance, rather than just bashing the bloke in the middle because he's usually the easiest target.

This grace is much appreciated and will certainly be missed...I really hope you reconsider as I certainly know that Wests won't function anywhere near as well without you, and your familiar and everpresent face (if sometimes grumpy) is always a welcome sight.

Cheers mate...hope to see you in the crowds this weekend !
