Match of the round: Nedlands (1) v Kalamunda (6) at The Foreshore, Nedlands
Last time they met: Nedlands 31 defeated Kalamunda 25 at Hartfield Park, Forrestfield

Table-toppers Nedlands will be looking to seal the 2014 Pindan Premier Grade minor premiership with a win over Kalamunda at The Foreshore on Saturday.

Nedlands, who will celebrate their Ladies Day on Saturday, are currently eight points clear of Cottesloe and will be looking for a good performance in the lead in to the finals against the sixth-placed Kalamunda.

However, the Bulls will have other ideas and must win their final two games with bonus points, as well as relying on other results, in order to make the final four.

Nedlands coach Gus Martyn said his side has benefited from last weekend’s bye and will look to hit the ground running just two weeks out from the finals.

“We seem to be coming good at the right time and we are hoping to continue our winning ways,” he said.

“The boys are very motivated coming off the bye will be trying to seal up the minor premiership. The bye came at a good time as we had some battered and bruised bodies.”

“Kalamunda are a big, strong team and we have to make sure we make our tackles against their quick side.”

Kalamunda coach Josh Heke said he wants his side to finish the season strongly.

“We have nothing to lose and will just go out there this weekend and have some fun,” he said.

“It’s important that we put a good performance and keep Pally at bay to at least finish inside the top five or six teams.

“I am also looking forward to the National Rugby Championship as it is an opportunity to for the young guys to have a go.”

Cottesloe (2) v Palmyra (7) at Harvey Field, Cottesloe
Last time they met: Cottesloe 29 defeated Palmyra 17 at Tompkins Park, Alfred Cove
After last week’s loss to Wests Scarborough, Cottesloe must rediscover their winning ways to maintain second spot ahead of a fast-finishing UWA.

The Gulls, who have lost four of their past five games, will be determined to put on a good show in their last performance at Harvey Field for the season.

UWA will benefit from the five competition points as a result of their bye this week, leaving Cottesloe to continue winning if they are to maintain their four-point buffer on the students.

Palmyra got a much-needed 23-12 win against Perth Bayswater last week, but have left their run too late after fading in the second half of the season.

Palmyra has brought Chris Bell into the starting XV at lock and William Hayes will play on the right wing in place of Chad Ramsamy.

Associates will be determined to keep the heat on the fourth-placed Wests Scarborough to force their way back into the top four when they face Perth Bayswater at Allen Park.

Soaks, who sit five points shy of the top four, face Baysie and Wanneroo – eighth and ninth-placed respectively – in the next two rounds and realistically must return both wins to have a chance to force their way into the finals.

Associates have made changes to their front and second rows with Jonny Ogilvie coming into loosehead prop and Andrew Laurence replacing Lachlan Stewart on the tighthead side.

Perth Bayswater will be looking to end their on a four-game losing streak before tackling the top-of-the-table Nedlands in their final game of the season next weekend.

Wests Scarborough (4) v Wanneroo (9) at Bennett Park, Scarborough
Last time they met: Wests Scarborough 53 defeated Wanneroo 0 at Kingsway Reserve, Landsdale
Wests Scarborough can all but guarantee themselves a finals berth with a win over Wanneroo this weekend.

The Boars currently hold a five-point buffer over Associates, who face Perth Bayswater at Allen Park, and with a superior differential are well placed for the final two-round shoot-out for a top four position.

Wests had a strong win over Cottesloe last week and put themselves in the best position to claim the final spot in the top four ahead of Associates and Kalamunda.

Wanneroo is yet to make it onto the winners list this season but put in a strong performance against UWA scoring a season high 20 points.
