I have trouble understanding this South-East Asian push. Japan maybe, but Hong Kong and Singapore? Aside from Japan's rugby background, I would have thought the market-size over there and the ability to trial different Japanese cities as a home-base would have been the obvious Asian choice. The team doesn't have to be from Tokyo, if the league wants to use a bit of marketing nous, why not focus on the most stubbornly parochial part of Japan and base the team in Kansai?
