At the very least, it would be nice to see Brache back in the midfield

Do we think this is the cause of the injury? Godwin was fine for the whole game until the siren went and he got hit as he kicked by Strauss.
I've watched the replay of Strauss's hit and it looked like shoulder into ribs to me with no real impact on Kyle's right knee.

Kyle couldn't lift himself back to his feet as he appeared to have no strength in the right knee.

I'd suggest that he's been carrying the knee for a while as he wasn't surprised by the weakness nor any of the hand to knee movement etc.

Are Diliyn Leyds or Dylan Sage an option to come onto the bench if there is no one left - given they have been part of WTS and played in the "A" games in February?

I'm assuming that Stubbs is still injured - that's why Burton go the nod for the yarpie tour.

    Available backs (afaik)
    Prior
    Turner
    Ebersohn
    Holmes
    CTM
    Brache
    Burton
    Cummins
    Dellit
    Hayward

So Mathewson still unavailable? Don't recall seeing that reported anywhere.

Tend to agree with you Shasta. This weekend is a must win, but even then it'll be touch and go.

Strauss collects him from the side and yes there is shoulder contact. There is also Strauss knee hitting Godwins right leg in the tackle. Strauss then falls across Godwins right knee pushing it awkwardly against his left knee and the ground. Godwin then has trouble getting to his feet. I'll be interested to find out which knee it is. I think the awkwardness of the contact and hit to the ground could have contributed.

Im finding it more depressing about this potential in a Yellow jumper. I thought he was a deadset chance at Links' nod.

Take back everything I said previously due to the recent comments:

"Godwin's posterior cruciate ligament damage was caused in the final play against the Cheetahs when he was hit unnecessarily as he kicked the ball into touch to end the game."

Adrian Strauss is the thug who often applies the dirt after the play is finished e.g dropping his knees on a try scorer. Watch the replay of the game again he was even tempted to drop onto Cummo after his try.

    Tragedy for young Kyle.
