Goosen and Oosthuizen back for Cheetahs

    May 7, 2014

Goosen and Oosthuizen back for Cheetahs

Cheetahs boss Naka Drotské has recalled two Springboks to his starting XV for Saturday's clash with the Force in Bloemfontein.

Flyhalf Johan Goosen and prop Coenie Oosthuizen return to the run-on side after making an impact from the bench against the Bulls in Pretoria last weekend.

Goosen, who has recovered from a concussion, replaces Elgar Watts, while Oosthuizen comes in for Maks van Dyk at tighthead prop. Both Watts and Van Dyk find themselves among the replacements.

The coach opted to include wing Raymond Rhule in the side even though he aggravated an ankle injury against the Bulls. Should he not recover in time, Cornal Hendricks will be promoted from the bench.

"If Raymond cannot play, Cornal will come into the starting line-up and Howard Mnisi will sit on the bench," said Drotské.

"It looks like Raymond will play and our medical team is confident that he will be ready to face the Force.

"Both of them are playing very well, so we should be fine should Raymond need to sit out for another week."

With flanker Jean Cook sidelined with a shoulder injury after the last game, versatile loose forward and lock Teboho Mohoje gets his chance in what will be his run-on début against the Force.

"Teboho is very quick on the attack and a quality jumper in the lineouts where he contests well. It is time for him to make the step up and show that he can play Super Rugby and start on a regular basis," Drotské said.

"He has done well thus far, but this is the first start for him and a good opportunity to show he can play the full 80 minutes."

    That's a dangerous looking side,

I was looking down the list and going
Front Row, looks pretty scary, we'll need to front up here
Locks, we need to get our shit together, these guys aren't world beaters, but neither are we
Backrow, Brussow is a worry, we need to make sure weve got him covered
Halves, Pretorius and Goosen together after a break will have them spitting fire, Our boys need to front up and be more than just a brick wall
Centres, here was the only area I thought we had a clear advantage, and even that is slight I'd prefer a Junior rather than somebody lighter and more timid, but Kyle is the class which gives us the edge
Outside backs, they're dangerous, underestimate them at our peril. I assume Mozza isn't quite done yet, so Dane will have his hands full Badger needs to knock some sense out of Rhule and Jayden just needs to have a good game.

I hope the boys aren't complacent because of the ladder, that would come back and bite us on the arse HARD!

Spot on with your assessment Gigs, we will need to contain their forwards and prevent their danger men, Pretotius, Goosen and le Roux running the ball and making breaks.

On their day the Cheetahs will rip to shreds ANY team in the competition.

I'm just hoping they have an off day
