    Captain fantastic

Just read a few stats on SANZAR

Most tackles - Matt Hodgson 125* (21 more than next highest)
Most turnovers won - Matt Hodgson 18 (4 more than next highest)

Joint 5th in try scoring too!

Well done skipper, super human effort

*that is one tackle for every 5 minutes played! Fark!

I bet he's pretty close to the best in missed tackles too (ie least number of missed tackles)

On those stats alone Hodgo should be walking into the Wallabies but I won't be betting the house on it! Same with Benny Mc and I bet they dick around with his selection and he spends more time on the bench than the pitch.
We will have to win the conference and have to get to the semis for our guys to prove their worth to get those Gold jerseys.

I am pretty sure Matty is also leading the ASADA after match testing stats as well. They take notice of a winning team, so I really wonder how Essendon got found out

And he's refusing to take the credit; preferring instead to emphasise it's a 23 man game. His modesty and unwavering support for his troops is what makes him a fantastic captain for mine.

Surely Benny Mac is destined to get a Wallabies spot again this year, his "go forward" has been outstanding and he is creating plenty of mayhem around the ruck - fantastic example for young forwards on how to get over the advantage line imo.

He should be, but Higginbotham is a media favorite, Palu's name is always mentioned (not sure why) and Mowen is the current captain.

Benny Mac and Higgers are one all in the head to head matches, but Benny has been more consistently destructive. Mowen is off to France and I don't think we'll see a lot of him this year (proximity to the World Cup and his lukewarm form being the reasons) and Palu apparently has photographs of the ARU board intimately involved with an underaged goat, so I'd expect (assuming everybody's fit) Hooper and Palu locked in, no idea why, they just seem to lead charmed, pale-blue lives and the 6 to be fought out between Higgers and Benny, Probably with a dose of horses for courses thrown in. Higgers when mobility is required and Benny when we need more grunt.

When Palu chucks his lolly as the going gets tough, Benny will hit #8 and Higgers into 6
When Hooper gasses out as a result of carrying the rest of the Waratah forwards it'll be interesting to see whether Hodgeo gets the call or will Link look to the other golden-haired boy Gill?

What about Gus? He's been playing out of his skin this season, can't remember a bad game from him and he doesn't have the age issue that might kneecap Hodgeos chances.

Then there's Adam Coleman who has been given the Bobby Dwyer stamp of approval. Will he see enough game time to make him stick in the mind as a genuine chance?

I thought the Eastern States media had locked Fardy into the 6 jersey

Sorry to say this and it may hurt others but ifc your boss is the ARU you will get the call up first as they want their monies worth out of you so the reds and Warratah players

Come on guys we all know the QRU and NSWRU are Funded by the ARU...

Also if they dont get a gig then we will have a full fit team for the last few rounds ( The Wantabies from the east have no show in regaining the Bledisloe Cup )
I hope then all our boys can do the end of season tour and shine

They might have sheikh, but they're creaming themselves over Higgers ATM. Fardy shouldn't be a six, he should take Rob Simmons' jersey and never give it back. Fardy on his own with the flu would be better than "hard man" Simmons and Sulky James Horwill. Hopefully Link is going to keep picking on form and bring in some of the promising youngens that have popped their head up over some of the incumbents who have proven to be nothing more than a reputation this year.

Ie any forward who is wearing red this year (they've ALL been pretty poor, ranging from below average to below f@€king useless)
Ben Mowen (really lost his mojo from last year)
Will Genia (hasn't gone anywhere at all)
Joe Tomane (look, he's going pretty OK but the riches in the outside backs make him a luxury, not a necessity)
Phipps, Foley and the rest of the Tahs backline except Izzy (Beale if were short of inside backs, but only if Izzy plays in his pocket)
Force only had two Wallabies last year, Benny Mac, unquestioned the best 8 in Australai ATM, even after a poor game last week and Honey Badger, who has been a bit on and off, but still a logical pick for 11
Melbourne, no incumbents, Higgers deserves a spot, I'm running dry for others who are Aussies, but surely somebody can find others. maybe Tom English to ensure the team doesn't get too laxative.
