Good Life Health Clubs Under 19's, Round 1 - 29/03/2014

RWA website only lists 8 U19 team for this years comp with nil results recorded as of yet.
I heard Neddies best Baysie and Wanneroo didn't have a team to play the Lions, anybody else have results from round 1 .... ?

    Joondalup v Associates ??

    UWA v Palmyra ??

    Nedlands 31 defeated Bayswater 7.

    Wanneroo v Southern Lions ??

Apparently, there are only 5 clubs capable of fielding under 19's teams. The other clubs have got players but not enough to put sides out. Rugby WA really need to pull their finger out and get moving on this or it is going to end up in a complete farce. Neddies recruited well from other clubs but got their act together months ago. You might say good on them for having the foresight!

Not sure what's going on with Wanneroo, the U19 won last year and now we don't have a team. They weren't all 18 going on 19...

I think the better players are playing reserve grade and possibly hoping for some bench time in prems during the season. The problem then is your average player may sometimes weigh up his options whether its worth it without the better players around. Who wants to get flogged by 60 each week by a stacked Neddies etc.
Was last years setup of the 18-20s so poor or do we give the new setup a couple of years and see all these 17s come through to strengthen it?
