Looking at that game, it was a great advertisement for the Rebels.
Good colours, good team name, great stadium, great atmosphere and a team feeding that atmosphere with inspiring rugby football. I think the brightly-coloured international opposition only added to the spectacle. All in all it looked like a world-class professional product, great for television and mass appeal. What we were all hoping for, here in WA in 2005.
If they could bottle this, and give some geographic/historic recognition to the teams in the competition, add Argentina and the Japan-Pacific XV into the mix (and make a big deal about it) makes you wonder if they'd be back on track with Super Rugby?
