    Foley drops the F-word

    Nick Taylor The West Australian
    February 15, 2014, 10:27 am

Western Force coach Michael Foley does not throw out quotes that make screaming headlines or deliver sensational statements to add drama to quick TV grabs.

Everything is delivered with consideration and lengthy explanation. But when asked if reaching this year's Super Rugby finals was a realistic expectation, he replied: "If you are asking me to make that decision on behalf of the team I would say absolutely yes."

He may not quite have committed himself totally but it is still a pretty big statement from someone who says he does not make empty promises.

Maybe he said: "If you are asking me to make that decision on behalf of the team I would say absolutely yes."

I'd be happy to see us win the games where we are leading at half time. Then the finals will take care of them selves.

And I think Foley said "fuckin oath!!"

A $21 dollar long shot to be exact. Given it is most likely they'll need to top the conference to progress, you may as well have half your stake on that @$41. I did. I love a roughie.

If we win the majority of our home games I will be happy with that. I'm easily pleased

I usually say that as long as we win our two Kiwi home games, I'm happy. But I think they can give the Aussie conference a good shake. If they can retain structure and take proper advantage of opportunities they'll give themselves every chance of topping the conference. Not a fantasy, they did it in fits and spurts last year so they have the ability as a unit, I just want to see that consistency come in.

That and Ed Stubbs reaching his potential.

I will be happy if we can avoid bottom of the oz conference! Prove all the predictions I have read so far wrong and hopefully win back more members next year..

I'll be happy if we are on the bottom of the conference but the points difference between the teams is five fifths of bugger all. Break even number of wins would be nice as well. Maybe a few four try bonus points as well or is that asking too much?

I'm going to go with at least one win over each Aussie rival (considering we play them twice) that, along with another couple thrown in will see us improve on last year. Id rather see endeavor and a developing mindset than a quick fix. If everything clicks and we're at the pointy end I won't complain, but I've made too many preseason predictions of top six finishes destroyed on the evening of our first match of the season to be confident.

If we make history on Sunday, I might change my mind!
