    Nesters Boys are to special.

The Academy are not entering a team in the Cockburn Sevens.
As a grass roots competition trying to show off the new Olympic sport in a Aussie Rules strong hold.
    This is a disgrace.

They are going on tour at the end of that week. You think they'd risk injury by playing some 7's games that would compromise that?

they are playing against the Nedlands U19's tomorrow and I wonder how many have been cleared through the ARU 2 year age window policy ?? or does it not count for State players when Nestor is in charge??

Seagull, I admire your passion for the 7's format but have to take issue with you on your post.

As SG1 pointed out the U20's are preparing for the Southern States tournament starting 21 Feb. The U17's & U15's are preparing for the JGC tour (leaving 4 March). These guys have been putting in huge hours and lots of sweat (not much fun training out in the sun when it is 40+ in the shade).

With respect they are not "Nestor's Boys", they are representing WA, they are our boys. Neither are they being "special" or precious, just preparing as comprehensively and professionally as possible.

Phantom, my understanding is that clearances under the 2 year window for U17 boys playing tomorrow are required and were obtained.

So much for playing U16 boys against U19 men ( actually only turning 16 in March)

Yeah, we get it, you don't like Nestor.

Why don't you do something other than blame everything that you don't like in the world on him?

That's the one. If Nestor has turned someone into a newt we had better see if he floats & erect the stake

I can sit here on my warrior keyboard and poke holes in some of the things Nestor does or says, however at the end of the day the positives out weigh his negatives and if some of your kids didn't make the academy or were in it and wasn't to your liking then replicate an elite programme at your club and do things your way.

Those bleating on about ELITE 16 year olds playing 19 year olds in preparation to compete over east go back to your knitting circle and ban Council Park Play Grounds - because if this prep wasn't in place prior to playing east the above pic could potentially be several fold as the size and full game intensity is that of WA U20 finals standards. (at a minimum) It's a ARU 2 year window policy signed off by a lvl 2 coach and parent that permits these kids to play a higher level.

My personal preference for Elite training is separate North & South RWA/FORCE run Academies 'XX' times a week for predominantly S&C etc. then all travel to RWA to the Central location for large number training once a week or fortnight or whatever's best. This would be largely aimed at Lvl 3 & 2 age groups and allow greater numbers which would hopefully spit more pros out the other end and push League over a bit.

There's no issue with an U16 side playing an U19 side, especially considering the U16 side is a rep side and they are most likely going to be bigger, stronger and faster than most U16 non-rep teams. Additionally you have a lot of schools who have 15 year olds in their 1st XV playing against 17, 18 year olds on a weekly basis. And something else to consider, if they're traveling over East, their opposition is most likely going to be bigger than most WA U19 sides anyway.
