    Top Job SBS.

Kudos to essa-bee-ess and FFA for the Friday coverage of the Sleeping Giant. Live into Perth plus a prime time replay for those still at work. Thats how to grow a supporter base.

Too bad none of the ARU navel gazers were as pro-active.

They brought it up during the last TV rights negotiation but dropped it as soon as Fox said they'd drop their payment by 30 or 40%. I'm sure this decision will be revisited next time.

Yeah mate. But Fox probably took a similar line with the A League initially. What the ARU seemingly lacked at the time was a CEO with the negotiating slkills to convince them that their narrow mindedness is bad dusiness in the long term.

At the same time, the A-League didn't have any greater responsibility. With Rugby, the revenues from each country get pooled and split. It would be interesting to watch the ARU explain to the other two why us getting FTA should come out of their pocket...

Did the A League cop a shave off their bottom line? Didn't hear anything. It's more a matter of convincing the broadcaster that it's also in their interest to grow new markets. In fact it's bloody obvious really. Any downgrade in TV revenues could probably be restricted to the ARU's share in any event.

Nope by having a game on SBS the A League amount did not go down

It would make sense for the ARU to have its share reduced should they want to go down the FTA route and preserve the NZ and SA amounts but can the ARU afford a hit to their revenue stream at the moment?
