Nedlands Juniors to run from Northend Suburbs

Anyone got the dirt on Nedlands muscling in on the Northern Suburbs to run their Juniors from that area?

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

It's hard enough to run Juniors from your own facilities.

Can you imagine having to run two clubs, 20 kilometres plus apart, with the same ever depleting volunteer base running both, storing, lugging equipment between grounds, getting senior players involved and intermingling with the juniors, two sets of ground fees, dealing with two separate Councils, two club/meeting rooms to clean and pay for, etc. etc.?

And the struggle in developing loyalty from juniors so far removed from their senior peers? What parental involvement will you engender amongst the mums and dads who will never visit the foreshore, nor get exposed to senior rugby, and who would have to travel 40 - 60 kilometres through the city in mostly peak hour traffic to get there and back?

Unless of course RugbyWA do all the heavy lifting for you, at the Union's expense, provide coaches, manpower, financial assistance, political clout, Force players at instant disposal ...... but that wouldn't happen, not for Juniors, not just for Nedlands, when they've never done it for anyone else, surely ....

The Roo Dogs may not be the most successful club in seniors but they have always been strong in juniors. I went to the finals that they held at Kingsway and they have made huge steps off field with their new club extensions and grounds. So what is RugbyWA going to let Nedlands do? Walk in and leach off all the hard work that the Wanneroo juniors have been doing? Poach their best kids with promises? Like I said s### fighting ahead. Thoughts Hansie?

Watched the junior finals at Britannia yesterday not one neddies team involved, don't think cott had representation either.
Padbury is in the city of Joondalup not sure they would be too happy.
I can't see this working logistically either. Why don't they wait until clubs like rocky and Joondalup spend ten years on a child and then just steal them.............. O hold on a minute .

    Why not?

Rugby WA supported Mandurah and then Kwinana at the detriment to Rocky - it seems the best way to make short term gain to make the "eastern stater 's" KPI's look good in developing rugby

Rugby WA will do what they like

To be fair to rugby WA that was two new clubs Hohepa this is an existing club .I think some of the older clubs are getting concerned about where their future is heading and rightly so.

Maybe the option for those "struggling" clubs is to relocate to the catchment areas lock, stock and barrel.

Or do they want their Kate and Edith too?

Think its a great idea if you see the growth of the game by junior numbers in the area.i would ask my boy what he wants to do as nedlands with the traffic is too far to go and i know of a lot of x players of neddies have kids playing at joondalup and wanneroo.great to see the club thinking outside the box .
