TWF - Perth Metro Referee of the 2013

So if there was such a thing for the best referee you'd see all season, who'd you give it to? (Or perhaps who would you fine fans of rugby give the Grand Final to? Same difference)

No need to go back over who did crap or particular incidents that bothered you, there's plenty of that on here already, but who did well and who would get your vote.

Be positive, And if you can detail what they did well to impress you too, that's even better and could be passed on to the up and coming to learn from/consider.

Crikey - where do you start?

Depending upon who you talk to:

G Cooper is clearly doing very well, having been appointed to a few Shute Shield games this season. I've seen him a couple of times and he done good.

I have heard the Sherriff chappie is (as expected) doing a very good job.

Seen Sprogrugby this season and he went ok, I guess...

Haven't seen RugbyRef at all this season so far, but I hear he's improved considerably from last year. And he was quite good last year.

The O'Shea lad is also doing a good job (again) this season, when his rugby playing gigs allow, so I'm informed.

Good to see Calverley back on the park, now his commitments allow - he's rool good.

Also good to see the Chappie chappie back in town and up in Prems. He must be going well.

I watched a bit of Matt Davis' game a couple of weeks back and he also went well.

Shame about a couple of highly-rated refs with significant injuries this season, both of whom would have otherwise featured in GF games.

Sprog gets my vote. He communicates very well, has the respect of the players, very balanced ( penalties between sides pretty close) and is extremely open to chat about his decisions.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

Here's an idea. why not have second or third tier refs from Sydney, Brisbane or Hobart (their first string will obviously be doing their finals) come over to referee our finals.

We can send our refs over to them to reciprocate.

Some people will never be satisfied, even if we get Craig Joubert to do the final!

My vote goes to Rumour Monger!

You're a gas' man ! As long as our expert touchline commentators can promise to stay here, the educated Eastern states crowds would be a pleasant change

Hansie, would you put Coops in there 2nd? he communicates well with Neddies - he does a lot of listening, and I'm sure he's got the respect of the Neddies players.
