Angry Brumbies show the Force how it should be done

I am still dumbfounded by the decision of the Force to play a second string side against the touring Lions.

    And for what?

The decision stunk at the time.

It was made to look absurdly ridiculous when the "first string" then were hammered by the Waratah B team.

Watching the Brumbies tonight just made me feel ashamed.

The players for the Force have always tried hard. Where the club is let down is in off field leadership.

Kind of makes it worse that five Force outcasts were involved tonight.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

Well done to the Brumbies though, Jake White really is a world class coach. It's a shame the Force didn't get him...

Sorry but I have a different opinion

Our match against the Lions is nothing but a practice match for the Lions as a lead up to the first Test Match in Brisbane. It means nothing.

Yes its an honor and a privilege yadda yadda yadda and it only happens once every 12 years. BIG WOOP. Win lose or draw our match meant nothing and from a statistical point it means even less.

If the British and Irish Lions wanted to take our match seriously - why did they have their first game in Hong Kong - when did Hong Kong become the first leg of the Australian Tour?

If the ARU wanted us or the British and Irish Lions to take this match more seriously they would have scheduled it for a better time.

The Western Force play in a Competition called Super Rugby, that is what we contract our players for. That is what our Sponsors pay us for.

I believe that the Western Force should give their best performance for each and every game they participate in, but, I strongly believe that priority must be given to the matches that count. And Our match against the Tahs was a Super Rugby Fixture as part of the 2013 Super Rugby Championship. The Fact that we are (and the Tahs) are not contending for the finals is irrelevant.

Gee the Nags played well. I am not looking forward to them playing us just before going into the finals, they will be fired up and if we rolol over and expose our belly as we did to the Tahs they will put a cricket score on us.

Looking at the brighter side Ian Prior got a good hit out, shame zack holmes only got a cameo at the end and not a bit more time on the field.

That was a Lions B team. They ought to have shown more respect to the Brumbies!

Seriously, though, four of the Lions backs had just got off the plane from Argentina or Japan; this was the mid-week squad

I wasn't happy with the Force resting players either but I rather just concentrate on the good result for the Brumbies rather than what happened 2 weeks ago... After coming so close in 2001 it was good to see them get over the line this time, mid-week team or no mid-week team.
