    Mungos at it again!

Warriors forward Russell Packer urinates during Broncos match at Suncorp Stadium, club fined $15,000

THE New Zealand Warriors have been fined $15,000 after prop forward Russell Packer urinated on Suncorp Stadium during the NRL clash with the Broncos on Monday night.
In scenes reminiscent of the Don McKinnon "had to go" moment in 1988, and as his Warriors team destroyed the Broncos, Packer decided to urinate during the first half, doing so nonchalantly with hands on hips.

The incident was captured by Fox Sports cameras and lit up Twitter.

The NRL moved quickly this morning to punish Packer.

“This sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable and there is no excuse for it,” said NRL general manager (football operations) Nathan McGuirk.

    .

The Warriors have five working days to make submissions in relation to the breach notice. Packer could also be charged for public urination.

It is understood NRL officials were aware of the incident moments after it happened.

There is a storied history of footy players taking inappropriate action to relieve themselves in major games.

McKinnon was the grisly Manly prop who christened the Broncos entry to the premiership in 1988 with a leak at Lang Park.

    He copped a $1000 fine.

However, this was in the days before the interchange rules and McKinnon correctly argued, "What else was I going to do? You can't just take time off and race off the field," he said.

All Blacks forward Jerry Collins also famously urinated on the field during a Bledisloe Cup match several years ago.

Ever heard of a bloke named Jerry Collins, Gaffa? He's from Samoa but I think he played for some other country.

30 seconds after he ran onto the field?

He couldn't go in the change rooms?

at the risk of assuming, is there a rule that prevents a player leaving the ground prior to the match after they have run out?
how close to kick off was it? would he have missed it, is there consequences if he did?

if he was just being lazy - then sure fine him. but if there was legit reasons and he obviously isnt worried about doing a piss in front of everyone. it's a massive beat up IMO

Let's not forget Jono, this thread has tangented to the Jerry Collins incident which, in this case, was far more discreet. I remember seeing it on TV and only realizing as he went the shake what was going on. The cameras stayed on him for quite a while with no director cutting away.

As opposed to a bloke standing "with his hands on his hips" and implementing the flow.

I didn't see the latter one, but the description sounds like it was a bit different

I don't think it would make me want to tackle him any LESS, but I would be taking careful note of where the incident occurred and make sure not to defend that area!
