three of our players that could still get a look in would be MMM, Adonis and Alcock i reckon... Great news that Cummo got the nod, i did not expect him to.

Great news and well done HB. Now you have to get the Gig! A meat or two and the ARU will give you a decent top up and you stay with the Force. Good on yer Mate.

I'm stoked Cooper missed out, one less flakey liability to worry about on-field. Brain flashes or brain-snaps?!
Yes I meant Brain Snaps the dumb plays

I'd rather see Quade at 10 than the other options.

Maybe Cummins can score some actual tries to celebrate his selection?

if the oppurtunities are there then id expect him to have a crack. If theyd come off you would be singing his praises.
Reds were unlucky with the tries disallowed. If the execution of passes were a bit tighter it would have been a different story but the ball movement between genia and cooper was good I thought.

Based on these selections, the Wallabies are toast....

The Lions won't even have to do anything imaginative, just plug the corners and maul us to death!

One thing that is worrying me is if they've just picked the squad lazily. It smacks of "what I picked before" with addition of the cross-code golden-boy. I'm probably being a bit harsh, but I thought a few more new faces would have already been in there.

Horne and Faingaa look like lazy picks, "same old, same old" And it feels the same way now that Cummins and Barnes are in the team and they haven't played for much of the season. (I am happy Cummins is in there though.) But when there's a lack of scrum-halfs, why isn't Nic White in there already? (If not him, then someone else?) I understand the other open positions might be for Quade and his running mate McCabe, but even then so, Kyle Godwin has been arguably the best newcomer this year. I think he edges Lealiifano and I can't see McCabe or Rob Horne being better than him this year anyway. If you had to pick only one of two Force players, would it be Godwin or Cummins? I have definitely been impressed with Israel Folau as a ball runner & gap-spotter, but I felt the same way when he was in league anyway. Kyle Godwin has been impressive with the same qualities in a much more restricted position and with his defence also.

Overall though, I don't think this squad represents Super Rugby form well enough:
    - too many Tahs where Brumbies or Reds could have been included; the bread and butter of our national team should be from our leading teams. (Ben Tapuai, Nic White, Jesse Mogg)
    - I don't think outstanding performances in struggling sides were really considered, ie no Force/Rebels players outside of a guy who was already in the last squad. (Heath Tessman, Kyle Godwin, Hugh Pyle)

All in all, instead of trying to do the best he can with Australia's best at the moment, it looks like he will go with the personnel he knows and the usual system he uses, which means I'll be very surprised if Burgess, Cooper and Beale aren't in the squad.

This will give the Lions a real shot at winning the series; they can now tailor-make a specific plan to stifle us.

I thought QC had a horror of a game 4 or 5 forward passes. instead of diving into the tackle he went in up right a slipped onto his arse.

Second scrum half will be Luke Burgess, just waiting him to finish the finals series.

Six players to name, these three are definates in the eyes of Dingo IMHO.

    1. Luke Burgess
    2. Quade Cooper
    3. Pat MCCabe (if fit)
    4.
    5.
    6.

Unlucky for George Smith after finally getting all the paperwork sorted on Friday so he could be picked, only to get injured Saturday!

Heard Deans interviewed this am. He said QC needs to make a "minor adjustment" to his game. He needs to get "more involved in the contact" area of the game. Went on to say that it's far too risky to have him hiding in D and that he wants him defending in the line. He also hinted that the turnovers he gives in posession need addressing.Should be interesting to see if Link willrisk it.
