He signed as injury cover half way though the season. He was part of the extended training squad.

Jacobs was solid in defence, offered little in attack. He was always a stop gap measure. He served his purpose and someone Foley had connections with from his previous time at the tahs. Thanks for your service Ben. Best of luck in England and beyond.

Hope Foley is sweet talking Kuridrani right now.

Jacobs heeded the SOS and did a good job, thanks Ben!

On a side note, Karmichael Hunt is off-contract with the Gold Coast Suns at the end of this season.

BJ was one of the players at the Rotto father/son weekend.

Good bloke. Good luck to him in his next gig.

From memory, he was a bit better at attack in his youth but he is getting a bit too long in the tooth. His type of outside centre is valued in the UK.

Sad to see him go thought he did a great job and had plenty to offer next season could have been valuable in assisting the development of Kyle Godwin

He was bought in as on of the EP squad he played his part well. I thought his attack was pretty solid, not bad in defence.
Good luck Ben and lets hope Wasps play better this year.

If I were him, I'd be looking for a contract in NZ. At 26 he's already played 6 NRL seasons as a 5/8, centre and full back. Won a Premiership with the Broncos. 10 Origin appearances for Queensland. Played in the Aus RL team 2006-2008. 14 games for Biarritz @ fly-half and inside centre including a losing Heinekin Cup final in 2009. French Baa Baas 2009. 2010-13 made a complete success of AFL becoming a starting midfielder in an improving GC Suns. Why not aim to represent your country of birth @ the 2015 RWC as an AB? Add an Olympic Gold Medal in Rio in 2016. It's pretty unlikely that Gold Coast, much as they have improved, will win a Flag any time soon if that was a goal.

He could become one of the world's great sportsmen and, at the age of 29, write his own Superannuation cheque back in Europe. Not that he'd be short of cash after what he got to go to the Suns.

He would look OK in a Sea Blue jersey too, I suppose.

I think it would look even better if he became an Australian dual-international and helped us win a world cup for that matter. It taints you both ways if you choose your test nation just because one has state-of-origin and the other one doesn't. And I do agree, if he does switch, I hope he plays for a team who could really use him, like us, rather than the Waratahs.

I don't think I'd agree with that. Lots of Kiwi born kids who grow up playing RL in Australia see Origin as the highest level of the game to aspire to. And they are correct IMO. It's likely a very hard choice for a lot of them. And a personal one.
I really admire Carmichael Hunt and am convinced he'd make as big a mark in Rugby as Israel Folau will and Brad Thorne already has.

Playing in a Heineken Cup final you could argue he already has...

I do see your point, though I think it's unfortunate that a player would knock back a chance to play for their country, just because state-of-origin is such a drawcard.

Having said that, I believe it's unfair (and a bit discriminatory) to expect any kids growing up in Australia to play for other countries anyway; just like Karmichael Hunt shouldn't be expected to play for the Kiwis, All Blacks, All Whites, Black Caps or any other New Zealand team for that matter. Otherwise, we end up in the situation soccer used to find itself in, producing players for Italy and Croatia when they could have played for Australia.

I hope that he would choose to play for Australia, he played union as a schoolboy here and he's already played RL for Australia, why not another sport?
