I'm not sure anyone knows. His injury seems to be a niggle in either the ankle or knee (reports vary) and the impression I've got is that he can't go full speed until it's sorted. I presume they've done things like MRI to identify the problem, but haven't heard anything about the outcome, or the timescale for recovery, as what I have read is along the lines of 'next week', and has been for a couple of weeks.

I just hope he's back soon. We could use some hard, straight running. As long as his tackling has improved he could be a good 13. Maybe Stanley could give him lessons....

On the face of it the article about attracting players sound exciting and has made my ears prick up that being said I am still gutted about the farces of seasons gone by when big name players where due to come and then pull out at the 11th hour.

For my two cents worth I would rather all signings are kept under wraps until the ink is dry on the contract with the players signature

Think we'd all agree there. But unless someone figures out a way to gag player agents the rumour mill will likely roll on.

What ever happened to Toupou at 13? I thought he went pretty well last year, before he got injured. At the time, he seemed like the man for the future at that spot.

I doubt we will see Tupou at 13. I'd like to see either him or Rasolea get a bit of a run there at some point but I doubt it will happen.

Any idea why not? Am I having selective memories about him doing well at 13 last year?

No. I thought he was good at 13 too. Hard, straight runner and a good defender.

That was my recollection as well. Stanley goes OK, and is a "safe" option, but I honestly don't recall him breaking the line once over the past two seasons.

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

The way they've been playing comparatively,I'd rather have Alcock at 7 and Hodgeo at 13, but it'd be a nice solution to two problems.

I know they are both good defenders. Alcock is a great ball runner. But defending @ 13 is a speciallist job. I only see 4 possibilities ATM. Stanley, Tupou, Heyward, Dellit. In that order. We have a lot of home games to come and I'm not writing the season off yet. I think the combinations will click as soon as Saturday. Bonus point win. Unfortunately I won't see it.
