Sekope Kepu re-signs with Australian Rugby and NSW Waratahs for two years

FORWARD Sekope Kepu has re-signed with the Australian Rugby Union and NSW Waratahs for another two years with the 2015 World Cup in his sights.

The 27-year-old has played 23 Tests since his debut against Italy in 2008, including six of Australia's seven Tests at the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

"Going overseas was an option, but there's still much I want to achieve in Australia," said Kepu, who has also played 50 games for the Waratahs.

"By staying in Australia, I can give myself another shot by aiming for the team for the next (World Cup) in England in 2015.

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans said Kepu's experience and ability to play on both sides of the front-row was important to the team.

"Even allowing for the change in protocols which provides for two props on the bench, a player who can play both sides is a valuable commodity, and 'Keps' has worked hard to put himself in that position," he said.

That's good news for the Wallabies, he's a capable boy. Hopefully two more years with the tahs won't completely destroy any semblance of value in him.

Isn't he one of the players dropped by the coach?

Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
