Does anyone know who coaches the state under 15 and so on teams?
Also who is responsible for selecting the players that make the final team?

Cheers Pacman just interested to know who makes up the coaching staff and selecting the teams

The brothers must have a good set up in Joondalup as they are well represented

I like you are also interested in the coaching / staff setup also. I can tell you Dwayne Nestor and his new side kick Elwee Prinsloo from the Rugby WA Academy heavily influence the makeup of the final squad being the chosen Junior Elite Coaches.

Joondalup have been filling state and regional rep squads for a decade now - So hats off, they're doing something right up there.

Last year the Under 14 Grand Final was between Joondalup and Rocky with Joondalup the winners - so the two best teams are well represented here with Rocky fielding 5 players.

I just wonder but in the interests of developing as many quality players as possible if the power brokers at rugby WA could not go along and identify what joondalup and rockingham are doing to produce so many representative players and take measures to replicate the rugby programmes at those two clubs across other clubs in the metro area.

Surely the more perth based players we can get to higher honours the better for the force long term

Rockingham and Joondalup are like the royal family. Not much use in themselves, but very well located.

Plenty of saffer, maori and even some Fijian(?) surnames there?

Should be more islander lads. Big, 'ard, nasty. The selection criteria smacks of waratah policies.......hyphenated names and private schools = mediocrity.

Under 15's.......biggest, meanest team wins. Dead set

    Who selected this team?

Also, no Bunbury boys. There is some red hot talent in Bunbury. As usual, the country kids don't get a crack. Give yourselves an uppercut. Too many metrosexuals with $500 haircuts.

The coaches and staff had to apply for the positions and were interviewed by an interview panel and these appointments were approved by the RugbyWA Juniors Executive committee(WAJRU)

    Head Coach Anare Koliavu
Assistant and Backs Coach Jamie McDonald
    Physio Stacy de Rooy
    Manager Pieter Blackie

Player selections were made from 2 trial game days that were attended by 110 players It gave us a squad of 40 boys that were then cut to 30 after a few training sessions and then down to the 23 touring and 4 reserves these cuts were made after 2 training games against Pally U16 and Southern Lions U16's
The initial selection panel consisted of all the development officers the 2 coaches and a couple of invitational selectors The Regional coaches from U14 2012 were also involved

Final training game is this Saturday 11am at Wanneroo rugby club against Wanneroo U16's

How would the Bunbury Boys be included in the selection process? Forgive my ignorance, but who do the country kids play against - what is the sound of tree falling in the middle of the forrest if no one is there to hear it? How do we fix it?

I would like to know what sort of numbers of young boys are playing rugby in various country towns in WA perhaps they could go down the basketball route and have a WA metro v WA country game or series of matches? Grow the game in the more rural parts of the state
