This is a little confusing. Billed as a "cup" which implies a tournament. But it's just a series of matches. Better than nothing.
Perhaps for the future it could be expanded and run in Oz, NZ & Pacific conferences with the Oz conference run as derby curtain raisers. Play off series with top 2 from each conference during the June window?

The Pacific teams are playing for a trophy but it's just a series of matches for the Australian and NZ teams - I guess it's more like a gauntlet match than a tournament.

I doubt that, I grew up surfing at Manly (yes all the way from Campbelltown Shasta!) and had many an ear infection because of the dodgy water and it's contents (blind mullets). Probably omporved sine the pipes stopped pumping

5 WA players from a squad of 50 is a pretty good number when you consider relative population. Looks particularly good in comparison to the Vics with their 5.5 million people. Go well.

Couldn't handle the train trip to Cronulla with all us Bankstown Bogans, eh?
As an aside; at about 14yo, got hauled off the train @ Kogarah for not having a ticket for our boards. They wouldn't believe my mate was giving his real name and wanted to check the electoral roll. My mate is a 6ft + Korean (prop). His name? Jimmy Smith. Dead Set!!
