The First Shots have been Fired in the Poaching Season

Just when most of us are getting over Christmas festivities I'm hearing the first shots fired in the annual Poaching Season.

I did check the calendar that it wasn't the duck shooting season but no, definitely there's players on the move and various under handed dealings going on in seedy bars around town. Must be something being slipped into the modern day Christmas puddings because a proportion of players turn into grubby mercenaries at this time of year.

OK, but don't go all Lance Armstrong on us......name the names, name the clubs or STFU.

RM is bang on with this one - one hell of a lot of player movements this off season, more than i have witnessed in any other year!!! Some of the payments i am hearing of are ridiculous, probably more than someone in the Force EPS would earn each week...

Its Lance Armstrong's day and didn't really want to detract from his appearance on Oprah, but heh, what the heck.

My pals at Kala told me they have been doing a serious amount of poaching locally and recruitment from NZ.

Amongst their latest "recruits" is Koliavu from Paly, PG Hampshire winner from a couple of years ago. Threw quite a bit of money at him if the rumours are true.

Soaks have been working on a cunning plan to relieve some of their neighbouring clubs of their colts grade players so the hyenas are starting to feed off each other which is good to see.

Wests have recruited a good crop of Force players and some from NZ.

Baysie are apparently working the phones hard but when the players drive all the way out there they are finding out the truth - Baysie don't have any money.

Wanneroo - usual spending spree in the post Xmas sales.

Uni - continuing with the recent philosophy that money can buy you anyone and have picked up quite a number of Force guys (or at least the remnants of what Cott and Wests don't have.

    Thems the rumours anyway.

PS Wonder if I could jag a gig on Oprah if I too promised to spill the beans!

Lots of recruiting, but no local poaching that I know of.

I'm loving this ,at last people are starting to crank up the metro comp.Wests so far have as confirmed Jayden Hayward from the force and to the best of my knowledge he is the only force player to commit. We were in discussion with a certain 1st five from NZ who is part of the force set up but couldn't come to terms with his match payment requirements which leads me to another matter, had an interesting conversation with a well known 1st grade coach from another club who told me that fringe force players are told by force officials to get the best deal that they can get from clubs to save the force from dipping into their own funds.I would hope that that applied to the bad old days and the force would no longer encourage that kind of crap.

This is meant to be a website where like minded lovers of the game of rugby put forward their opinions and we don't always agree but enter into debate anyway and have fun doing it but dickheads like you Darkness have no right to enter personal attacks on individual's so why don't you do everyone a favour and crawl back under that rock
