NSW Waratahs fail

It's the merchandising bungle every sporting team dreads.

A batch of New South Wales Waratahs caps have hit the market bearing a "Team NRL" logo on the tag.

A picture of the caps was posted on Twitter last night by a bemused fan.

A letter from licensee Elite Sports Properties was also published on social media explaining the mix-up and offering fans helpful hints on how to remove NRL messaging on the Super Rugby caps.

"Please be assured that the product you have received is a genuine product under licence by Waratahs Rugby and is in no way affiliated or endorsed by the NRL," the letter stated.

"The label can be easily removed by clipping the stitching without affecting the product supplied. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to Waratahs Rugby and its members."

Ordinarily you would say it's a manufacturer fail but surely someone at NSW Rugby HQ would have looked at them before mailing them to members?

They really aren't that bright. You cock up like that, you make light of it - show them how to remove it, but also offer free replacements to anyone who can demonstrate entertaining destruction of the offending items...
