Question I want to know what "Wobber" Welborn is going to do!

Do you want to know what is happening with Wobber?

Well I do and I am going to ask him, is playing or is he retiring?

Does anybody else want to ask Wobber a question?

Direct from someone who was at the Western Force Presentation Night, he was given a great retirement speach by Brendan Cannon, accompanied with a highlights package of his career on the big screen and a bottle of plonk.
Although always a tough character on the paddock, I am told that when he returned to his seat he had a slight tear in the eye!
My guess is that that would make it official?

    1. What, if any, further involvement with Rugby in WA is he planning to have?
    2. Does he have any plans to get involved with his old high school, Scotch College, in a Rugby capacity?
    3. How many years does he feel it will be before a considerable percentage of Western Force players are being sourced from Western Australia?
    4. Does he have a decent "payback" story for/about Kearnsy after the pasting he has copped from him all season?
    5. Would he consider Refereeing a Refs v Touch Judges & TMO's Charity Match?
    6. Can he still fit a full middy glass (& a straw for air) in his mouth and scull the contents?

Any chance of getting a transcript of the interview posted up if it goes ahead #8?

Bugsy, will be recording our saviour of Western Australian rugbys interview.
I'll ask Couch if he will put audio grabs of the interview on the home page (like we did with Mitch, Mulvers and Beno).

Although, if your not cattle rusling you can tune in via the web of course......

welbourne is my only rugby claim to fame... well my dad's.
He and my dad played for uni first grade together many moons ago and natually my dad believes he taught john all he knows. He was actually awarded the teams best and fairest at the time and we've been reminded of it ever since. (we think he got it because the team felt sorry for my mum who had to wait for dad to finish training every thursday, taking care of two young kids at the time... nothing like the sympathy awards)

I didn't actually believe my dad was mates with john until we went to a friends of uni rugby club benefit lunch last year and john was the guest of honour. After the speeches and presentations there was some mingling and when John shook dad's hand saying "hey steve."
Dad: "So you do know who i am? My daughter here didn't believe me when i said we knew eachother"
John: "Knew eachother? You taught me all i know didn't you mate"
Me: It's nice to meet you.

Well it sure shut me up. He's such a great bloke. Funny as hell. At the members day dad and i spoke to him again and asked him to sign my jersey which i was wearing at the time. he agreed so i turned my back to him so he could sign it and his response was "awww... i have to sign the back?"
    hehe.

I hope he stays in WA and plays for uni still. He would make an awesome coach too. Still wish he didn't retire.

He was at the game last saturday at subi and he walked right past us after the game finished. did anyone else see him?
