Where is Mallet at the moment and is he available?

This is good, we need a completely fresh start. Since inception we have had Mitchell and then one of his assistants. Plus Sharpie has been a leading figure for the whole time (no offence to him of course, he has been great)

But this is just seems like a great opportunity for a complete shake up, new coach, relatively new captain, new game plan, new culture etc

Nick Mallett has passed on his congratulations to Stuart Lancaster after being beaten to the role of England head coach...... "With the speculation around the England head coach position now out of the way, I am looking forward to sitting down and looking at other opportunities in the world of rugby with my representative Craig Livingstone at Prosport International."

Nick Mallett will have a grin on his face, as he made a few comments about Perth after the World Cup a few years ago.

He isnt going to be assuming head coach of the Reds for another 2 seasons... Ewen is still the head coach in 2013 whilst RG will be filling an assistant coach position vacated by Matt Taylor who has signed with Scotland for 2013 onwards.. RG will be mentored by Link through 2013 and assume the head coach role in 2014.

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

No TOCC, RG will be Head Coach of the Reds next year with Ewan will become the Reds Director of Coaching and in 2014 he will become the inagural Reds Director of Rugby (if he is not the Wallabies Coach by then)

    Check out RG website: http://about.me/RichardGraham15

He'll have to update the last bullet point 'Strong supporter of everything West Australian'

Find and replace 'West Australian' with 'Red'

Any suggestions for more bullet points to add?!!

I think this one of the reasons that I feel the most offended by all of this. Richard has been so positive and supportive of the team, Perth club rugby and WA in general. In fact I think it was only recently that he first said something negative about our boys.
John Mitchell never said much, never smiled and, of course, wasn't on social media. But Richard Graham was completely different in his interactions with the media and with supporters - you could approach Richard at meet the players' day and have a chat. Was it all b'sh-t?

I didn't see last night's interview on tv but I'm assuming, by what everyone else on here has said, that he has made some parting comments that have ruffled some Western Australian feathers. Much like Gits did which won him no friends here.

I was quite shocked to log on yesterday afternoon and discovered the announcement, didn't see it coming at all and no matter what is said about being committed here to the end of the season, a mid-season announcement like this has to have some de-stabilising effect. But then, 1/3 of the players are also off at the end of the season aswell. It's professional sport blah blah blah.

So, I'm still hurting at this point, feeling like a lover scorned being told "I'm off, I never really loved you and by the way, you're not that good in bed!"

I'm with AndyS on this, surprised, but not really pissed about it. You can't knock a bloke with young kids too much for moving home, although he's meant to be a smart guy and should have known there would be difficulties with a young family. All he has done is exercise a clause in his contract (a clause which was agreed upon by RugbyWA board I assume?) without fuss. None of this yes/no/maybe business being dragged out in the press.

The timing is probably unfortunate for this season, and how it affects contract negotiations with existing/new players could be an each way thing , but it gives us maximum time to find a replacement.

Next coach should have no kids at home - no missus may help too? Personally, I'd say an ex - forward; whilst we are currently strong in that area, we can't afford to lose this strength and should keep this as a focus whilst also hiring suitably qualified backs coach/staff (and I stand by my comment earlier about a sports psych!).

Any single or divorced old blokes out there with a good head for rugby?
