Rabble "Apparantly" Ahead in Signing Pocock

    http://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/su...-1226320306956

Another rubbish article based on speculation rather then based on any facts and quotes.
We've seen this before havent we? The media will be willing and urging Poey to leave the EWF over the next season.

Sure this is the same journo's who said Force were going to get Cooper - Beale - JUDAS would resign and our marque player was going to be SBW..

not holding my breath. we lost JUDAS (no great lost) and reading Poey book he wasn't overly impressed on how JUDAS went about his business. I know Poey well enough to say that he will sign with the Force when its time, all the media are jumping on his back as he hasn't resigned cause we are AT LEAST a 1/3 of the way thru the season...

my goodness, why hasn't he re-signed with the Force (ha ha ha)

Just for the record, we didn't lose o'connor. He countered a final offer from the force, and they pulled out of contract negotiations with him

in my eyes Judas isn't playing for us in 2012. = a player lost for the force.

That said, it would be a "Captainly" thing to do to tidy up the contract pretty quickly to a) do away with these stories and b) give the recruiting fellas some meat to work with.

Someone should mention to Bam Bam that the Rebels still havent ditched EnergyWatch as a sponsor.
Does a wonderful humanitarian like David really want to be associated with a company tainted with Racism?
Melbourne Demons made a huge gutsy move by dumping their major sponsor. Be interesting if the Rabble do likewise.

I believe they have. A logo was blanked out on their jerseys last night.

Sounds like someone didn't do due diligence on their sponsor.

Reading openside, I'd have to say that anywhere O'Connor is playing is the last place you're likely to find David Pocock.

My money would be on Queensland if not the force

Queensland can't afford him. Between Gill and Robinson they have that position fairly well covered without having to fork out big bucks for Pocock. They should spend money where it will make a bigger difference.

There were also holes cut out of the sponsors board behind the players at the press conference I noticed this morning watching Fox Sports news

I think the Reds can afford him, but I agree that 7 is well covered for the Reds.

I have no doubt that he will do the right thing and stay.

    Yeah.

The Reds have so many stars that it would be tough to fit them all in under the salary cap. You have a pack of Wallabies plus some excellent talent underneath. You have a backline of Wallabies (when everyone is fit) and some good talent underneath. Sure you could afford him but it would cost you elsewhere and you have good options at 7.

With guys like Cooper, Horwill, Genia, Ioane, etc, you might find a touch less 3rd party money than in Perth where we have less guys- Nathan Sharpe especially- to bite into that pie.
