So? I thought that was a prerequisite. As well as being almost completely blind, of course.

Unfortunately I've never played, but I watch the games with 2/3 of a front row. I'd like to think if I had the chance, I'd be the extra prop require to complete the set

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

As a little fella, I played loose forwards mostly. My playing career didn't progress beyond juniors ...

LoL so considering there is no quantification of "back in the day" I'm going to say I didn't follow rugby, as it was only in 2003, when we had some of the world cup games in Perth, that I actually began to develop an interest in rugby.

Holly crap!!! thats almost ten years ago ... I'm getting old

..a small, but slow, blind side flanker, B-side almost always.. forced to play 12 on occasion, never happy about it; was introduced to hooker this past saturday. it was uh, a humbling experience..

Started playing over 40 years ago when the ball was made of soap with a lead core, a referee was always referred to as "Sir" and the linesmen were always told to fetch the ball out of the river. A try was worth 3 points and a pint was a shilling.

Started as a back then moved into the pack then eventually settled at centre / full back. Even played fly half on occasion when I found a team where no one else could catch or kick the ball. If playing with today's weight and shape I would probably be a very slow prop. Only ever been a hooker after the match.

Keep persevering with the front row if your neck is up to it, it'll extend your rugby playing life for up to twenty years.

But seriously, try to strengthen your neck and shoulders and take advice on proper technique.

Don't be afraid to speak to your opposition front row and tell them you are new to the position. A good opposition front rower down the grades (we are all good) will take it into account until you show that you can handle yourself, and will look after you to the extent possible.
