Righto geekbank, am flying out to the US tomorrow night and am looking to options for both best buying for an iPhone4 (am talking a physical shop, not online).
Would they by cheaper (and actually work here) to buy in the US?
Vv, would one that works in Aus work in US?
Any other feedback.
Obviously it has to work in the bush but I believe I have found the answer there with a cradle/ariel combo I saw working up home the other day.

well you would need to make sure that it uses the 4G network, and not all US (im not sure if many at all ) use 4G. i hate apple with a passion, but make sure you check.

You can either get an aus sim and turn on global roaming. Just check with your carrier to see if they cover the area you're goin to. Or buy another sim in the u.s and plug it in.

iPhone 4 has a micro sim though. So initially you will need to enter all your contacts in again and save them. Or back them up with iTunes on your old phone, the. Restre them to the new iPhone when you plug it into your computer.

Also I'm keen to see this arieal set up you mention. Need to find a way to get reception in my room up here.

And the good thing about Singapore is you can get out of the terminal, taxi into town for 20 bucks, buy what you want and either get another taxi or a $4 met ticket for the train back out to Changi and do that in less then 2 hours.

The other question burgs, is does it have to be an iPhone? Nokia still make the tradiea phone you can beat to shit. It has the port for an attachable arieal.

You'd still have to turn on global roaming or buy a throwaway sim over in the states
