JESUS WOULD BE AN ALL BLACK SCRUM-HALF

Rugby: IF YOU believe the Kiwis, God is on their side at this year's World Cup.

A Wellington church has hung a painting depicting the big guy as an All Black and suggested if he did play rugby, he'd be a scrum-half.

The painting is at the Cathedral of St Paul, where the Very Rev Frank Nelson hopes it will bring a smile to churchgoers' faces.

"We often call New Zealanders 'God's own' so it would be completely logical that if Jesus did come back he would be an All Black," he said.

But would he be eligible? Born in Israel to a Jewish mother and Jewish father/God (delete as applicable), would he pass the rigourous IRB rules on player eligibility?

The point is that Jesus wasn't born in New Zealand. So like everyone else who wasn't born in New Zealand, Jesus won't care in the slightest about anyone or anything from New Zealand.

If they are God's own, they are doing a good interpretation of the tribes of Israel, by making their way en masse to The Promised Land - Australia!
