    Inspiration or Madness, Part 1

There's a saying along the lines of, "There's a fine line between inspiration and madness"!
Which does this idea from past great, Tony Daly, come under?

    Phil Waugh-
    Height: 1.75m
    Weight: 100kg

Flankers have been making the move for years at Club level and I have no issue with his strength, durabilty and potential weight however, at only 1.75m, surely he is too short for the modern International game?
Imagine for a second having a Loosehead with nearly the same mobility as he has now though!!!
I think the concept is sound but he may have the wrong body in the long run.

In the current game, size does matter...

The concept is interesting. Isn't Phil Vickery a former flanker? I've seen him run with the ball and he seems pretty speedy for a big fella.

Would he still have the speed and mobility with an extra 10kg to carry?
    Is it worth the risk??

Personally I wouldn't think so. If Waugh was an 18 or 19 year old coming through the ranks then I would say yes.

But seeing as he is one of the best opensides in the world, I can't see how it can be worth letting him go for questionable short-term gain. They should be concentrating on the up-and-comers, especially the under-19s who just won the world cup.
